:clapegg: Havent seen anything posted, dont know if anyone even watches these cuties anymore. I know the stutter type camera is somewhat outdated now with so much livestream everywhere. Do wish they would switch up too, camera is so far away. My little Swiss ProRiet Owlies apparently have hatched. Cant find a count on the site, sometimes they have losses with the littlest and next to littlest there, maybe they didnt want to say just yet. But I think I see at least 4, one very tiny skeleton type one, but couldnt really get a good shot of him, he was closest to cam, but fuzzy fatter one hides him. Here are a couple pics. I watch them on my desktop type large monitor, not laptop, since the viewing screen is so small and they seem far away, cannot enlarge it. Mom and Dad appear to have their wings full of babies once again! :girlluv:

Thanks for the post and pics, LeeLee...yes, I do know we have a few members who watch this cam....I think we're just so overwhelmed with the Falcon nests (and all the drama) this year, that we've just fallen behind with our favorite barn owls (and kestrels and eagles and osprey)... :wildman: So thanks for keeping us updated!!!

 Checked in and caught mom out of the nest on a potty break? Thought you would like to see her sneaking back to her babies!

:yip SWISS OWLETS DOING GOOD! I had not seen a count of eggs posted on site, so I went to the picture of the first hatching and blew it up 200%, where I thought I counted 4 eggs. (old eyes can never say for sure LOL) Could not capture a pic of all 4 owlets until today. 2 larger, 1 med size and yes of course, 1 tiny size. BUT, if you should visit and see 5, please take a pic. There could always be one more stuffed in there! They all look good, and this pair is good with food supply for this number of 4. (7, not so good). So I am very pleased to see that :spingirl: Also glad to see Dad has not changed his pattern of sleeping in the box during the day with mom n the owlets, for the first few weeks anyway. Starr Dad will do the same. I used to think it was because these experienced Dads really wanted to be with their females during the day. Watching CLOSELY though, has showed me there is an ulterior motive to it. They actually like being able to steal a prey item during the evening on their way out to hunt. After all, Dad needs sustinance to do all that hunting, right? :lol2: That has led to many squabbles with the Mrs at Starr, you can see those over there LOL Here are a couple pics of the Swiss Family. Hope you like them.

Here you can see the smallest faceplanted

Lets keep hoping tiny can do well, there is after all quite a size difference there.

:clapegg: Let's not forget the Dutch NESTKASTLIVE Barn Owls Nest - they had all 6 eggs hatch. Here are a couple of pics. Mom and Dad both made deliveries within 3 minutes of each other. You can watch them approach the outside entrance, and then be ready for the entrance inside the nest view! I can only see 2 large in front of the camera and 2 behind them, so am not sure if there are still 6? There may be, have not had time yet to translate all the action there the last week, lots of deliveries I can tell you that from a quick glance at the blog. Hope you like the pics.

How about a butt in your face?

p.s. Edit 06 22 2011 11am - they have posted this am that there are now only 5 owlets.

:eggwave: Some updates for our on going barn owl nests to follow. First, our NestkastLIVE Dutch barn owls: Shortly after last post, count went down to 4. Good news is they are very healthy even though size differences between first and fourth are significant, number 4 seems to be catching up. Took these before the holiday, but couldnt post until now.

:danceegg: For those too worried about Tiny at the Cornell Italy, TX box to watch, Wing and Beau have been doing a superb job feeding Tiny and Big. I believe you will be surprised to see these pictures, and know they are now able to stand on the volerail to wait for their treats LOL

Tiny now on left, Big in back WOW

They are replacing wires on the cam, so sometimes you get the spinning circle, or SNF, but try later then. I also notice a problem with high temps near 100 during peak times. Try early am or very late night.

:thumbegg: Update on the ProRiet Swiss owlets: SURPRISE! I had only seen 4 owlets for the longest time, down from probably 6 or 7? Well, checked in this weekend and the count is 5!!! It seems that one of the larger ones has so much down on its back it looks like there is a turtle on its back! He has been blocking the 5th owlet from being seen. What a treat, they are bouncing around the nest at night between midnight and 6am Swiss time, which is 6pm to midnight eastern time, or 3pm to 9pm pacific time. Jumping on the camera ledge, and wingersizing! Great time for screen shots folks, and they are very comical, believe me. Here are a couple shots. They will be around another two weeks, and then we will see them going outside and waiting for deliveries on the ledge, and then one by one peeling off to fledge. So now is optimum time to catch their antics LOL

:clapegg: Hi kittenface and all. Here are some updates on the NestkastLIVE Dutch barn owl box. They are getting mischievious and jumping into the front alleyway, peeking out, waiting for deliveries, and just looking soooo adorable. The smallest however, cannot climb out yet to the alleyway. I saw him try one foot up yesterday evening, but he could not make it and gave up. Maybe too much fluff on him still also. But, fear not, he did not go hungry. The parents made a delivery, and the sibling passed it over to the baby inside! How polite the dutch barn owls are! Sometimes I wonder if somehow mom or dad communicate to them that it is to be passed on? The BOT owlets have always been polite passer-ons too. Hope you like the pics :girlluv:

Aren't I just the cutest thing?
