When I was watching the delivery, I didnt see anyone get kicked off the launch pad. Didnt know anyone thought so until I refreshed and read the comments posted. Looks like 5 is still there "the rasper", doing his rasping...is always hard to get a head count, because you can usually see 1, 4 and 5, but 2 and 3 are sometimes behind the wall view towards the back and left side of cavity.

What I did HEAR prior to the delivery and during, and even after, was a whole lot of "deeting" between 2 owls. Pete heard it too along with the screeching during his delivery, of TWO barn owls in the area. There is another cavity in another tree nearby, which is where maybe 2 owls are roosting??? Would those 2 be Mrs O and a new suitor??? I think it is possible she either has a new mate or is being pursued by a male!! Listen carefully and keep checking the owl making delivery's ankle for the silver band. We may see a delivery being made by a new mate??

Here he is, so patient. Just waiting by the door....

I love this stage of development. Still fuzzy, but with a beautiful satellite face.

Recorded around 11 PM local time

Pete climbs the ladder to the nest, cleans the camera lenses, and confirms five owlets are still there. Mom may have a new suitor.

Great news all around it seems
I just loved when Pete went to put the roadkill (as he put it) in it looked like Tiny was going to try and take his hand he went right for the food as if he was thinking if you all aren't going to try and get it first then its mine

Just great Beans thanks so much for getting these great moments on video for us

A BIG thank you from me Beans for capturing all of that. So nice to hear Pete talking and explaining the circumstances. Their faces are so adorable and beautiful! So trusting, almost like they know Pete is helping them. Great news about a new Mate and that they are ALL there.

Great to hear Pete's commentary. It would be wonderful if Mom is getting some help with a new male. Thanks for capturing this beans!!

Thanks Beans . I have been watching since I returned home and I did count five last night.

I cannot get sound so I did not know what Pete said. It is cool to see him put in the nightly wares.

Any idea why I cannot get sound.

He steps right up --- and holds his place! Number 5 may be short on height, but he's long on pluck. Go, Tiny!

Recorded at 6:20 PM PST

That was adorable Beans. Thanks so much! I laughed out loud at that little one looking so sleepy, but loud, and the way the larger one kept looking down at him, like .... what's all the noise about? Just adorable!

The Starr Ranch Barn Owls get their bands

Part one:

Part two:

The camera wasn't focused and there was static... but you can see what happened. Afterwards, the Barn Owls were returned to their nest. I hope there will be statistics posted on the website: weight, sex, etc.

just finished watching videos. :valheart: :valheart: too bad we could not hear as he was giving valuable information. I was so impressed at his patience and the involvement of the children. After all the children are our future. He reminds me a lot of our Gord. Beard and all. Such a gentle manner and the children were so calm.

thanks again Beans :valthumb: :valthumb:
