I see that the live streaming for the ledge and nest box are both down so I have sent a message to Lindsay asking her to fix the problem - I have not heard back like I usually do so both Donna and Lindsay must be busy. I hope they can fix the problem soon!!

The cams work fine for me. I too use Firefox (version 3.5.3)
Still images are okay too. Just checked the ledgecam and it is flashing again. :-(

Hi Ladies :happyh: Alcoa is banding the chicks next week and we get a chance to name the chicks this year.I have already submitted Orville to be picked for one of the male chicks. If you think this is a good idea, please go to the Alcoa site and submit Orville for your choice.I can't think of any better way to honor our beloved falcon.I also submitted Apollo for the other male chick. Also Alcoa will be naming the female chick,if we have one,Froona in her honor.Isn't that great news?Have a great day,and vote for Orville as soon as you can ;)

HELP!
Since I only just met Orville and Scout in 2008, I need help with the details about the first year that Orville supposedly helped Scout learn to be a good mother so I can include that with my submission to the Alcoa site for naming the chicks. What did he do exactly?

I am sure others could add to this Susan but I remember "Mr .O" showing Scout how to
feed the little ones...She had the food ready but didn't know she had to take it
to them and put in their mouth. She would stand close but not close enough...
We were so worry about her MoM skills BUT Orville showed her what and how to do
the feedings... Took a couple 3 days :o

Thanks, Beth. If anyone else has anything to add, I'll wait until this evening before doing my write-up.

I was wondering the same thing for the same reason, Susan! I'm also going to submit the name "Orville" & wanted to give a brief history including his help in showing Scout how to be a good mother!

That is such a great idea...I will send in his name as well....Beth, that is the main thing I remember...He was also a great provider (I guess all males are...)but I really think he "worshiped" the ground she "walked" on...plus he was always so patient with the kids... I just loved the way he would look at his feet...and he always worked so hard on the scrape...he was always in there.

I miss our little guy!!!

Thanks SGB and Beth for your comments and memories. I've done my write-up and made the submission. Hopefully enough people will submit Orville's name to get it chosen!

What do you think Froona would think about having a brother named Orville?

There could only be ONE Orville and I hold his name in the highest esteem. Nice for Froona, but Orville and others who have passed on -- Like the #7 for the Yankees -- no more Mickey, no more #7. Sorry! :( :( :(

No need to be sorry, Joanne! We all have our feelings about how to honor Orville & your feelings are certainly as important as anyone else's!
