Peter, thanks from me too for all you are doing to "hold down the fort." My thoughts and prayers are with Bev and her father.

Peter (Mr. Bev) here. Went down to the University tonight. Saw mom eating on top of the Education building. Did some further walking and found dad sitting on top a crane to the north of the Education building where some new construction is going on. I was on top of the parkade at that point. I walked down to the street and low and behold there were two falcons on the Education. One was mom the other, I think, was Froona because of her size and coloring. Could not confirm this as I could not see the color band as her legs were hidden behind her perch. In any event I saw three of them.

The biologist emailed me today and reported a confirmed sighting of Mr. Yellow at a place called Cooking Lake which is about 30-40 kms southeast of Edmonton. Not only did the bird watcher get part of his band but confirmed the bright yellow tape on the other leg. The young ones are moving around a bit as the biologists said they might. Good to see that he was spotted though. So far all seems to be well with the fledglings and the parents. Will keep you posted as much I can.

Pete :D :D

Hi: Peter (Mr. Bev) here. Just went down to the Weber building to check on "Weber Girl" aka "Homeless" aka "Transmitter Girl". Saw her sitting on the W proud as punch and to my surprise off to the right of her on a ledge just below was another falcon. Could be she has found a new mate. Wouldn't that be great! I took pictures but don't know how to add them to this post. Haven't had that lesson yet from Bev. Also went down to the University of Alberta but only saw the adult female. Not surprising as it was the middle of the day. I'll go down again in the evening in a day or two and I'm sure I'll see more of them. Its getting that time of year where they are thinking of migrating so would like to see them as much as possible.

Bev won't be back till the end of September as she has to still play nursemaid to Dad and I will be going out there to help her and hopefully drag her away for a short holiday.

That is great news about "Weber Girl" who I believe Bev refers to as Miss Edmonton. She has had it tough and so I do hope she has found a faithful mate with which to spend the winter.

Just a quick note.
peter has been busy getting ready to come out here and arives tomorrow . But he has been phoning and updating me on my beloved falcons
As of last night Damon and Radissson were sitll around. He did not see any kids. they migrated this time last year. but he did see FRoona last week.

I am also happy to report that Miss Edmonton and another falcon yesterday.

I imagine the males will be gone when I get back but maybe the female adults will still be around. they did not leave until after the first week in October last year.

I will write a wrap up report when I get back and try and donwload some key photos of after the fledge.
Miss you all.

I received this pm from Bev last night...

Hi,
I have not had much time to myself. I miss my cams and birds .

My dad had to have an emergency second operation so it has been very tense here but now he is on the mend.

I finally talked him into going into an independent living place. this is a great releif to my family as one of my brothers lives in australia and my brother that lives here is dealing with his wife just having a masectomy the day after my dads surgery.

A few of my eagle friends from Nainamo and Victoria drove here on Saturday and took me out to lunch and then we went to the Raptor place. It was great to get out and great to see friends with common intersts.
We saw the raptor show and they also flew falocns. The little stinkers took off for awhile and then came back to do their part of the
show. A truly enjoyable day. My brother came over and stayed with dad

Peter arrives here tomorrow and I am so excited. He will help do a few more things here to get the house ready for sale. Dad will have to recuperate for another 2 months or so but my brother and his wife are going to move in here for awhile. Their house is being renovated. . He wanted to wait to make sure Maureen could handle living here with dad after her surgery.
So it has beeen a trying time but Peter and I will also go away for a week and relax and then home sweet home.

I will be back on line when I get home. Thank you all for thinking of me and my family.
You may share this with the others if you wish.

Cheers
bev

Wowee - if there has been a massive solar flare, well then it sounds as though Bev copped ALL OF IT!

Oh boy, what a LOT she has had to contend with over the past months - so nice of her to share it with us - thank you Beth & Bev :thanku

The magpie was there when we went down. there wre actually 2 but nothing to chomp on.
did you notice how clean it was :D :D At least I think it is cleaned. I will keep cam up now.

I'm glad you complained, bev! Your voice is obviously being heard. We certainly love watching our nests after the kids have left, don't we? Lots of courting action happens.
