Seasons greetings from cold Heidelberg with first snowflakes! PERKEO can already be watched every day perching on top of Holy-Spirit-Cathedral`s steeple...

Pa is a German Falcon. He was born somewhere in Nordrhein-Westphalen. His bands can not be deciphered. But the colours (or lack thereof) have pinpointed him to that region.
His first recorded nest was in 2005, so he must be born at least two years before. The two Peregrines in Zwolle are from Germany too. Both born in Nordrhein_Westphalen in 2005.

Edit: The female in Zwolle is born in Hamm, on April 18 2005. She was one of four female chicks in that nest. The code on her coloured band is K6 The male was born in Herdecke, near Dortmund, on April 10 2005 and had three brothers. He has the code K3.

Thanks for the holiday greetings & falcon info, Hans-Martin, and you have wonderful holidays as well!

Guess the Netherlands and Germany have falcons crossing the border to nest like Canada & the U.S. do...

Update at Derby:
~ A woodcock was seen being brought back to the tower around 10.45pm on Dec 20th, and is still there at the time of this update (21st Dec).
It has caused some alarm as some viewers had wondered if it might been one of our peregrines. Rest assured: they're OK.
