Hi fellow BCAW members; I hope all of you are enjoying your weekend! Since there have been so many posts personally directed at me since I wrote last Friday night (Oct. 8th), my goal is to compose one reply with the hope of catching up/answering everyone in one post while keeping in mind that the site is actually for exciting happenings between Caesar (CJ) and Red Girl; thus me not wanting to bore you or take up too much of anyone’s time, yet still wanting to respond!! Wish me luck

Please allow me to prelude with a note to all of the BCAW individuals on the Wilmington site … even though I had not posted on this site prior to last Friday night, I have visited here almost every day since January 2010 and love this particular site partly due to the fact of how involved everyone is in it (how much time and dedication they give to this site) and the wonderful, yet individual, contributions of all who are here that make it one of the best/exciting peregrine falcon websites! OK, here goes:

To Faith
(replying to October 9 @ 6:53 a.m. post) – THANK YOU for the welcome and for your compliment on my Avatar; I truly appreciate both!! …and yes, ALL OF YOU are a very special group of people out there and I am so glad/thankful/Blessed to not only have been introduced to the BCAW website but to also be a part of it.

To skygirlblue (replying to her post of October 9 @ 9:27 a.m.) - one of the BCAW site administrators and one heck of a lady!!!! M.A., thanks for all of your private messages and for all of the hand holding you did as I learned to muddle my way through BCAW and can now enjoy it on a daily basis, not to mention all of your personal time you invest in the BCAW website to make it as successful and informative as it is. …and YES, THANK GOODNESS you, nor, I (or a handful of others that I could name off the top of my head) DO NOT have falcon chicks at our homesteads or nothing would get done, at home, at work or on the BCAW website (I would speculate)!!!!

To Greg Inskip (replying to his post of Oct. 9 @ 2:59 p.m.) – Your DAILY food reports have been interesting, valuable, and a way for many to learn what all the peregrines dine on and from where. We wouldn’t know this information, including the intricate details that you provide, if it was not for you and your reports; not to mention your report of sightings right from your office, so that we are constantly getting updated information and whereabouts, etc.

and last but not least,

To Catbird (replying to her post of October 9 @ 3:05 p.m.) – Thank you for your kind words, it was good to finally post on the Wilmington site.

Also, let me extend a GREAT JOB to Ethel for catching (and posting) the picture of CJ & Red Girl TOGETHER in the nesting box this morning! That was a special treat!!!

Great catch, Catbird. I thought that their main bond was that they're both in love with the same box, but it looks like they kind of like each other too.

That made me laugh too! :laugh

I saw CJ in the nest box a while ago. He did some scraping and then looked around for his honey.

P.S. Christine - Thanks for your nice post yesterday!

I didn't see a falcon today but this evening there is a new flicker wing on the sidewalk below the box.

Red Girl was perched on the south corner of the roof of the Wilmington Trust Tower when I arrived in town this morning. Good spot from which to oversee the pigeons in Rodney Square.

Yes, good catch. It's a treat to be able to see them close, even in the off season. One of them was perched on the box ledge in mid-morning. CJ, I think. No new prey remains visible for the past couple days.

They're seeing redtails and two golden eagles in the past few days migrating past the hawk watch at Ashland Nature Center, about 12 miles away from the Brandywine Building. The falcons may have some interesting territorial defense opportunities in the next month or so.

Just logged on and caught one in the box. But in a moment he/she was gone! At least nice to see one. Time was 8:44a.m. :catmoon:

Red Girl is on the box ledge now, looking out across town toward the Brandywine River. Flicker wings and mourning dove feathers on the sidewalk below.

One of the falcons - Red Girl, I think - was in the nest a short time ago.

One of them is on a ledge to the right, where one was an hour and a half ago. It looks small so maybe it's CJ and he just stayed put while Red Girl came and went.

Woodcock feathers on the parking lot roof.

Greg and others who look at the Wilmington forum. You may be interested to look at the Harrisburg forum, October Part II, page 4. Reenie has posted some falcon related info on there from my recent trip to Egypt.
