Well, she always did think she was a diva, so leave it to her to find a nest with a cam!

What a sweet "baby" picture of Red Girl. If I'd fish through the archives, I could probably find the date of when that picture was taken. It was on a Sunday morning in June of 2008, and will never forget Red Girl coming down Aberdeen aiming right at where I was standing. She landed about three feet from me, but then kind of flew/hopped right across Market Street. Luckily for her it was a Sunday with very little traffic. She zoomed on down the sidewalk along Market Street and hung a left up 5th Street where she was captured in a parking lot. She looks kind of wet on that picture, for we sprayed her with water to keep her calm. The picture was taken on the roof of the Carson Building, probably by Westwindschild.

I took that picture when we released her on the Carson building, on June 15, 2008. She was for once very un-divalike; didn't make a peep. We had to take the carrier apart to get her to come out, and Mom was zooming about overhead the whole time. Once we got the carrier back in the building, I ducked my head out the door for just a second to get that shot, the security guard being impatient to get back to his normal rounds, I couldn't take more than one.

Wonderful job on that pic, Westwindschild! Remembering back to that period, she was also the one who wouldn't jump out of the carrier when they tried to release her back unto the ledge (since she was the last chick to fledge). I believe it was a couple of days or so after this picture was taken. They had to "dump" her out of the carrier, & the look on her face after being dumped was priceless!

That's right, Nancy. We rescued her on Sunday and released her on the roof of the building, she got herself stranded on or near the auditorium roof later the same day and was rescued again - I think it was late Monday or early Tuesday. I remember how surprised we were that Mom and Lil Dad resumed basically on-demand feedings for her until the Friday, when she finally flew again. It seemed like she was never going to leave the ledge, lol.

Gee, I forgot all that stuff Sue. I can remember that quite a few people from out of town were here that day, and we watched Red Girl flying from building to building. She had us on our toes.

Oh, the memories!! Great to go back over their younger years. Thanks for all the posts on Red Girl. i do remember she wouldn't leave the ledge, and was the largest.
Look at her now! Just like her Mother!

She was on the box ledge around lunch time. A hollowed out woodcock was two buildings away in front of the Hotel Dupont. I can't swear who caught that one but I would bet on CJ; he seems to be good at exploiting woodland birds (and lots of others besides).

I caught a glimpse of CJ earlier today as he was busy scraping in the box. (Taking the picture was easy, but trying to get it uploaded into the new "improved" Photobucket was not!)

Oh yes, Catbird! We have been having problems with PB, as well as people on other forums. See the "Forum Problems" section if you're interested. Susan has graciously spent a lot of her time trying to help resolve the problems.

(And thanks for the capture of CJ!)

GREAT PIC CATBIRD! I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH PB, THEY JUST CHANGED THEIR WAY OF DOING THINGS. IT IS A LITTLE MORE COMPLICATED AT FIRST UNTIL YOU SEE WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO DO. BEST PART I LIKE IS IT COPIES THE LINK FOR YOU NOW WHEN YOU CLICK ON IT LIKE IT USED TO :-) THEY DID ADD AN EXTRA STEP TO GET TO YOUR PICTURE THOUGH :-(

Love the pic, Catbird...I thankfully haven't had any problems with PB...I'm not happy about the "save" step...wish there was a way to by-pass that...and I'm not crazy about the video that pops up while your pics are uploading...

New woodcock and pigeon feathers on sidewalks this morning. One of the falcons was on the box ledge at lunch time.

Thanks for the food reports, Greg. I've been checking the cam every day but haven't had any luck in finding either Red Girl or CJ at home. At least we know they're still around thanks to your posts!

I usually see one of them up there every other day or so, but not like later when they're really focused on courtship, etc. People who have been watching cameras from Harrisburg and other places may have a pretty good idea of when we might expect Red Girl and CJ to be more obvious in and around the box.
