Shawn is on the camera right now zooming in. He just called to tell me it is an unbanded bird. I was in the process of comparing it to old photos of Harriet, because the one there now sure looks like her. It could be another.

I thought Harriet was positively identified as the wounded falcon now treated at the Wildlife centre. :-?

Its a little confusing Ingrid, but the injured bird was found a block away from the box, so it seems likely it would be Harriet. The Wildlife Center is going to take some pics of the falcon so we can see her breast markings. The bird in the box today looked a lot like Harriet, but its so hard to tell for sure.

What very interesting events....ya know, while I was watching yesterday, I really didn't think it was Ozzie..I saw NO bands...and I thought the falcon was really large...but never in my wildest dreams did I consider it could be Harriet!! I thought a new female had already "moved" in..I should have thought to look at pics from this season to compare...

let's say we're seeing Harriet on the box and the bird in rehab is another female that Harriet got in a battle with and "drove" into a building..(or visa versa)...Harriet (or a new female) is spending time at the box to stake her claim. I don't know about the rest of you, but I rarely check this cam because we haven't seen anyone..(I don't know why I kept it up for so long yesterday)...Maybe this falcon has been there all along since the injured falcon was found....just a theory...

Those are great closeups, Beth...sure do hope Shawn (or someone!!!) can figure this out and this turns out to be Harriet!!!

There are some great close ups of Harriet here: (and surrounding pages) I just looked at all the pics we have of the bird in rehab...not really any good head shots...

Beautiful close-ups, Beth! Very interesting developments - I wonder who is really at the nest. Looking forward to more pics and information on this. Either way, the bird at the nest and the one at the Wildlife Center are both beautiful falcons.

Good evening all - Hopefully the following will provide some clarification. At this point we believe that the breeding female of the Richmond pair remains in downtown Richmond. http://falconcam.tumblr.com/

Cheers,
Steve

Thank you for the wonderful news about Harriet! I am so glad she is safe and well at the nest. I am also glad that the rescued female is recovering well - she, too, is a beautiful falcon.

Well, this is a surprising turn of events. :o
Still I keep my fingers crossed for the injured falcon, wherever she may come from.
