That is quite an impressive report...Thanks Barb...

Rocky arrives...but Jubilee doesn't budge...so Rocky goes to the "refridgerator" and returns with a pathetic piece of leftover..

Image

Jubilee comes to look...and is not impressed..

Image

She returns to the box, empty beaked...when Rocky comes to tell her that if she wants it, she'll have to get it herself..which she does..

Image

Very short feed...because I can't imagine there was much left...hard to get a pic, but definitely looked like 4 squirming bodies...

Image

I sure hope Rocky is out finding a better lunch!!!

They will step 'up to the plate.' They are experienced parents. Plus, they manage to keep the eyasses away from that bad edge.

I saw them move, really! It is very hot here and those babies are in the shade as much as they can be. I'm not saying what I think they look like, but anyone up for barbecue?

Image

Forgive me, that was a gross comment, but, did I say it is hot here? As always, fingers are crossed that all four make it past fledging.

This nest always looks so chilly but the chicks got a good breakfast this morning in tandem! Jubilee brought in a fresh catch and was quickly surrounded by the hungry four before she could defeather it. So Rocky brought up the rear with a stash and started feeding two of them, while Mom fed the other two. I couldn't save any pictures, so just enjoyed the view! Mom took her buffet away to stash for later, while Dad continued to feed ... they were so full, they could hardly stand up! Mom came back and stole Dad's dish and took it over to her two, who had retreated into the back corner. Dad's two wobbled over towards Mom, and Dad wandered away saying "She always gets her way!"

This scene really made my Good Morning!

Thanks for the morning report Sue, and welcome! I've been watching the Pittsburgh pair with 5 chicks, and they always divide and conquer. In case you are from the NYC area, check out the JC cam. They should be hatching today.

The eyasses got banded today, I think! The Falcon News posted banding is May 5. I have no other information. I hope they post the results right away. They are all huddled in the shade next to the building.

The post is dated today and I think they mean next Wednesday, May 12. I couldn't see evidence of bands and they are about one week too young.

They just did the banding live on the webcam ... and I missed most of it! Caught them putting the four chicks back in the nest and Mom attacked the handler, but never left the platform! Did anyone capture pictures? One of the chicks was too petrified to move back into the nest, and Mom kept a watchful eye on her until she calmed down and rejoined the others.

Waaaah! There was no way I could get a glimpse. I depend on my forums to let me know what happened.

Do they make those announcements in advance Bonnie? Bummer that we all missed it.

They did announce on the Falcon News on the site that the banding would be today and I thought I posted that. But they really cannot set a time. The banders have lots of birds they may band in one day and they never know an exact time. But I am not in the loop at Water Street.
