Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc. are search engines that we use to find things on the internet by typing in key words that return a list of sites. So those search engines need to “crawl” all websites gathering all words and indexing them. That crawling is done by their “bots.” Websites like ours that change from one minute to the next with added text, need to be crawled on a regular basis. So, when someone uses Google to look for, let’s say, “peregrine falcons” and “cam” we hope that our BCAW website will be in that list that comes up.

Really good to know - from now on I will always include the words "peregrine" & "falcon" in my posts! :okleaves:

Plus great to see them both settling down for sleep together

Looks like a sleep-over to me. I'll bet Warrun leaves bright and early tomorrow, though.

There's a lot written about the hierarchy of site listings in a Google search. It is QUITE involved, but one thing that helps move a site up the list is having one's website as a link on other legitimate sites. That's another reason why it was great that Alcoa put our link on their page.

Okay, the guard just left, but I'll bet the kids are tucked in for the night. Watch for Warrun to leave at first light tomorrow.

Oh my, Susan & LE--so sorry you couldn't sleep but thanks for keeping an eye on our teenagers! So glad Warrun decided to spend the day with Froona. Today its the older brother's turn (too lazy to look up the name)!
