Today's the big day here as after a nice t-storm last night an a good much needed rainfall the temps. cooled off a tad but it'll be humid again soon making for some exciting up the Sheraton Hotel here in Hamilton. Watch our loving Madame X our feisty mother like no other, as a older female she is very strict almost a drill sergeant just watch Surge as he never gets out of line. Watch the aerial displace of Madame X ..... what's the hype Moose? Banding day is here so the sun is out no clouds perfect weather for a airshow. :thumbup

Why would they not keep the smallest one for a bi then, if there were some concerns. this just baffles me.

that would make more sense than seeing it take a bad turn.

Moose, this cam is located on the MacKay tower, the south campus heating facility at the University of Buffalo.

Here at BCAW, you can join in discussion of this nest at: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=539

Yes there are 3 boys and 1 girl an all named after local hospitals. All the boys have blue feet and yellow for the female as I found out early yesterday twas 3 boys lil Joey will need fattening up if any food makes it past lil porker Henderson. Ok I'm bonding with Joey as I was actually born there an it was my grandfathers name. I think we'll have to just keep an eye on them but really the weather this month here has been out of the ordinary way too hot and you've seen all the birds panting in this heat so really not surprising to me to see this. Too hot they all slow down so do the parents an all other birds around but the parents aren't suppling the demand from the young ones because You see they're content to sleep instead until the sun moves around in the afternoon for shade. Now this said we're calling for lots of rain and storms this way this week so cooler temperatures to follow and production will increase. See banding day was only off by one day as it was June 2 last year, where we had as You know 3 girls 1 boy but look at the weight difference please. Dixon our boy was 640g to Joseph 492g and we'll give a wash to the other 2 boys here because females weighing more which brings us to Henderson at 746g and to lets say Strathcona at 1014g who was the lightest female at the time. They are all smaller in size I'd just sit back and watch them grow.
As at this time of writing I see one on the ledge all after a feeding and little Joseph well he's alert to all the goings on which is a good thing.
Cheers for now
As all looks good over at the Burlington Lift bridge too with 2 young ones.
Yesterday late afternoon was out in my front yard enjoy the day when a Kestrel flew by us at eye level an about 10' in front of us very kwel indeed. :toast

Finally we've got rain here and temperature is dropping too next the humidity.
See there's 2 full days between hatching between Joseph & Chedoke an one more till Peter. Joseph is only 20g lighter then Chedoke (2days) who is 7grams lighter then Peter.
