I have been worried here, but there is nothing I can do. I did e-mail my concerns.

I am slowly realizing that I cannot save the whole peregrine population

It was really difficult to see all four chicks earlier.

Then the fourth chick appeared at the back:

Oh, thank heavens, that little fourth one is still there. He likes to blend in with the others!

Well here's Peter and he's a big boy too as almost as big as his sister Nora.
Now are his bothers really that small or is he just that large?
So here's Peter yesterday evening perched looking towards the setting sun in the West.

Little guy needs a step stool to stand on.

But I think this might be him getting a bite.

If that is him, he looks like he's getting there.

This is from our Hamilton site:
At banding the low weights and apparently small amount of fungal disease present in their mouths were evaluated by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. They were deemed not of enough concern to warrant any action other than returning the chicks to the nest. The OMNR, which is the controlling authority for all matters concerning these birds, has asked HCPP/Falconwatch to continue to monitor their progress.

thanks Moose. I wrote a few e-mails and got replies back. As long as everyone is watching.

At a site last year ,where there were no cams , it ws noticed after fledging that one of the juveniles probably had frounce.I believe the outcome wa not good. I will have to look it up to get all my facts straight. Carly may remember.

so I am very adamant, that when we have a cam and notice something, then something should be done.
God bless the people at Harrisburg and Columbus for listening.

Well he is gettin bigger, just much less developed than the others.

I know yesterday, I think, I saw the mom in there in the box next to the small one after a feed, two separate times. I wondered at the time if she might be feeding him separately, but couldn't really tell.

Yes I've seen X feeding the two young boys separately a couple of times early in the morning as Peter would be on the ledge and Nora busy star gazing.
Here's Peter spreading his wings.

Cheers

Hello Bev: How're things out west in Alberta these days? Been incredible weather wise here no rain for a couple days so today was cool in 60s and sunny humidity won't be back till end of the week.
Here's the link to Hamiltons banding this year.
