News about the falcons with a GPS transmitter.
Luna our Wloclawc falcon has never been located, she dead.
Rafka, another falcon is drowned in a water tank.


A hungry young Icarus,Mom in the box with something to eat. after this video they went very quickly [ while I pressed the pause butten :shock: ]

I don't think its a good idea to put transmitters on young falcons who are trying to master flying, but I guess the biologists are trying to determine where these babies go. :confusedsun: Adults have enough trouble being slowed down when they migrate if they're wearing the transmitters. Sad news about Luna and Rafka. :cryinggirl:

:cryinggirl: This is terrible news these young birds are just getting started in life
and SHOULD NOT have the burden of transmitters
Its not like the researchers can't get an adult caught to put one on them it has
been done other times

Hanny, that is such sad news about the young ones...I guess it gives the biologist valuable information but its got to be a burden for them when they are trying to fly. I don't care how light they say those things are, its got to impede what they try to do!!
