hi
I work in this building in vauxhall london and we now have four eggs in the nestbox!

they started incubating after the 3rd about 5th april so should hatch around 8th may they have been around for about 5 years and tried nesting last year on an open ledge they did have egss but the crows got them.

This time the box is somewhat protected by the aluminium framing that was refferred to as pipes.

any qs plse ask

ta

Hi londonfalcons :welcome
I was very excited to see a nest here as I will be visiting London in June. I hope that you can get pretty close to the nest on the tube. They will no doubt have already fledged by the time I get there, but hopefully still in the area completing their training.

Have you guys looked at those videos on the main page? Soo cute. The male is making a nestbowl, two actually.
It appears that he has a band on one of his legs but she doesn't?

Hello "londonfalcons" great to have you on board.
I really would like to know the exact address of this nest/building. I am working on a global nest map, attached to our nest calendar. I started this as a single spreadsheet and we are now expanding it. Working on multi-language editions and adding data from previous years.
Any info on the falcons is welcome as well, such as band codes of the adults. Our goal is to set up a European database, to see how the falcons travel and where they end up.
In the USA and Canada those data are already well documented for many falcons and it gives a good idea of the dispersion and how the gene pool is getting mixed throughout the continent.

hI all thanks for nice replies

the nest is about 10 min walk from vauxhall tube not the best part of london so hide any expensive binoculars cameras etc or better take a friend seriously as you can hear the sirens are ever present.
no names yet just Mr and Mrs P

the postcode dutch fan is sw8 1rg just look for the tallest ugliest building with a big BT sign outside lol

The best vantage point is from vauxhall park opposite the building otherwise too close and you crane your neck looking 200ft up again take care in the park lots of winos and vagrants as there is a hostel nearby.

perhaps a naming competition to be chosen by kittenface?

see you soon

Thanks for the info londonfalcons. Do worry, I'm not going to let a few bums keep me from seeing the falcons. Once we roll in with about 30 screaming kids, that might try to avoid us.

I hope everything goes well here and they have a successful season.

both mr and mrs P are well and taking it in turns to incubate appear to be feding well as the scattered remains around the building prove pidgeon, duck and snipe anongst the diet.
you wont really see them together as one will be incubating the other hunting and when it comes back they swap over .

let me know if any wants a guided tour one lunchtime could meet vauxhall tube etc
