I was going through all my bookmarks and found a page with a lot of material from 2006, made by Arjen.

A walk down memory lane:

Just got an email today from Justin TV, saying they are showing De Mortel. This is fantastic news. Not sure who we owe our thanks to, but hope I get a chance to say "Thank you" on one of the forums.

I assume you know about this Ingrid - I have posted a message on a couple of other forums too.

Do you know how this came about, Ingrid.

Kathy

Hmmm. Right now, it shows the cam as being offline, so I wonder if it truly is operational or if it will be broadcast during daylight hours . . . ? I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Sorry, but Roel was testing sound from a web-cam of his own. He had no idea that some people would get an email after he re-activated the site.
It will not be used for live images from the tower. Apologies for the confusion.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but there will be NO live images from the Mortel.
Roel was only testing and suddenly Justin send mails to the registered persons

Today at Natuurkanaal there was a live video transmission around the tower by Lambert using mobile equiment (It can be seen live on FilmCam). He also recorded S2 and Pa sitting on the antenna and also other animals in the surroundings of the tower ;) A summary of the recordings can be seen at 'SnelleLoop', the name of the project.

That was fun to see Pa and S2 on the antenna. Looked very windy there. Will this mobile equipment be used so that we can view activity at the nest and on the ledge?

Sure!! It is not a replacement of the fine cameras in the nest and on the balcony but it gives us an alternative. It would have made an excellent addition to those cams.

At Natuurkanaal, at daytime (GMT) there is the TorenCam (TowerCam) which gives a view at the tower. It zooms in where the total roof of the tower is showing. Secondly the FroonaCam can zoom in at a point where only the nest and the ledge can be seen. Both cameras can be moved by remote control, so also the antenna, the rings, or lamps can be observed. The distance between cameras and tower is aprox. 450 meters.

Additional to those cams, Lambert films on location at the tower every now and then, using mobile equipment. This can be seen live on FilmCam in high-quality. We hope he will capture nice footage of Pa and S2, but also film the other animals in the Mortel.

Another cam (GrotelseHeideCam) is located at the first ring of the tower (90 meters). It has also got remote-control. This camera has a view on the surroundings of the tower, but it also can have a look on the plateau when some prey is eaten by the falcons. This is an older recording of S2 and her meal.

For the Kingfisher at the SnelleLoop the SnelleLoopCam can be used. It can also be moved a bit, and has also some zoom capabilities.

I will miss the fine cameras on the ledge this year, but until next year, the alternatives will be nice. Thank you.
