Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...thanks for that update, Alison...and they are soooooooooooooo cute!!! If that is a recent pic, I'd say they have a while to go before they "fly the coup"!!!

Thanks Alison!

Am I missing something here?

"Since the arrival of the newborns, Robyn has been contacted by two American online forums, and one Dutch, following the coverage by the Daily.

At the request of those groups she has placed a webcam at the window so they can watch the little ones grow."

LIKE any proud mother of three newborns, Robyn Hills asks, “Are they cute or what?”

That's weird - did I miss something??? - the article says that Robyn set up webcam for the online forums ...???

:upsideleaf: I had the same thoughts, DEF and Susan both contacted her and I am
sure we would have had about a webcam ...

That is really weird. I recently asked her for an update and she said she would send me one when she returned from a trip. Never heard anything, and I didn't want to keep bugging her. Maybe DEF knows. Well, it is great to read the newspaper update, so thanks a bunch, Alison!

I read that too and was quite amazed. Robyn didn't mention anything about a webcam in her last mail, with the pictures of the cuties.
There are two more:

I'll mail her back to ask about it, maybe it's the cam that is used for these pictures and it's not live on the internet. . .

Yes it is probably just the way the newspaper has worded it - got it a bit jumbled up (as usual! :-? ) - as you say Ingrid.

Hi Ingrid,

Ahhh – we’ve learned here that the journalist doesn’t always print what we say – and this article they only got ONE thing wrong, compared to the other articles.
I said ‘we had been asked to put in a web cam’ in response to her asking ‘what had the various groups contacted me about?’
We don’t have a web cam. Sorry!

I think when the chicks leave will be the time to look at that option, as it would need three cameras to show them and you would need to get out on a ledge 11 stories up to do this.

We have talked to Australia Zoo today about banding the chicks – and their first response was that if it is a wild bird, they don’t band it. Even if it was brought into their animal hospital for treatment, they don’t band it. The lady is going to talk to the rest of her team, but that’s the story so far.

The video of the guy banding looks scary – and what we experience if we go out on any balcony of our apartment – sometimes even around the other side of the building!

Cheers, Robyn

Mystery solved
I send her the link to the video of the banding at Hamilton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nN0OqPjADVk
I think the situation at Robyn's place is similar to this one and wanted her to get an idea of what could be expected if they decided to band the eyases.

Thanks Ingrid for the clarification e-mail from Robyn...
I was pretty sure "all of us" would not have missed a new webcam site :pumplaugh:

Solo looks like a hungry, growing chick. Just think if there were more than one baby, the chaotic feedings we have all seen.

And Robyn's 3 babies are just perfect. No doubt that she is a falcon fanatic too by now.

Thanks for the updates.

I should check my spam folder more often, because there was an email from Robyn there dated Oct. 23rd. Shame on AOL for thinking that was spam. I believe DEF got the same note as well as a third person. The 3 images previously posted above were attached. Here's Robyn's note:

Hello there Peregrine fan club!

Thought you’d all like the updated photos. Sorry it’s been a while – we travel a lot!

The chicks are so entertaining – waking up around 4.45am and are quite active with being fed until around 8am when they have their morning nap.

They are spreading their wings and flapping a lot, standing up on the edge already, under the watchful eye of mum, Emily.

Frederick – dad – must be exhausted with the amount of birds that he brings in to feed this brood. The chicks are being given the carcass whole and tearing it up themselves now.

The favourite – or most readily available supply – is Rainbow Lorikeet. There is a colony about 400m from us.

They look a motley crew at the moment with their new feathers poking through.

Feel free to put the information and pics onto your sites/forums.

Cheers

Robyn

Another post on the Alcoa Site.

Looking all too casual this morning, Ava sits preening on the Power Station while Havoc rests on the water tower. Not the attentive behaviour one would expect of parents who should be egg sitting or feeding chicks.
