Feel like the 3 kids over here are getting ignored, by me.. :egg12:

They all seem to be doing well. Growing. Getting fed very well. I'll try to get some more pics of them.

If you look out, you can see a parent on the ledge of the building across the street.

Here's another view when camera panned out. You can see some of the other nearby buildings and the deck of the Bay Bridge (connects Oakland to San Francisco).

Here are the little ones cuddled together

That's funny, Michelle--I posted a picture a couple of months ago of a bird that I thought was a falcon on the corner of that building, & everyone was skeptical about that being a falcon. It was more believed when I asked why the cam was pointed there if it wasn't a falcon! :egg6:

Sorry Nancy.. I don't know if I was watching the cams/boards very much a few months ago, or I could have answered quickly. The only reason I know it's a falcon is because they did the same zooming last year and people on the SF Yahoo Group couldn't figure out what it was until they zoomed up close. I think they figured the parents roost there so that the young cannot see them and are not constantly hunger screaming at them. Makes sense, I guess :egg16:

Thanks for that info, Michelle! I think the doubting came from the fact that what was on the building looked so big in comparison to the building. I guess the top of that building is kinda small?

Someone has found some leftovers.

Well, now brother or sister, just pushed her out of the way to take the prey.

Wonder if parents start to leave leftovers so kids will start feeding on own?

Guesses on sexes?

From watching them today and this picture, I think 1 male + 2 females

I hate to compare the nests, but it's so funny.

To me, these 3 are always very well mannered. Take their turns when eating, stay close to one place, and don't wander off too much to start. It's like Dan & Lil run a tight ship. Mr & Mrs Strict.

In San Jose, we've got them splitting up, pulling food from each other's mouths, aggressively taking food from Clara, starting to wander, etc. Clara has done all the feeding (that I'm aware of). Clara tries to keep the kids in line, but they sort of develop a mind of their own. Little rebels.

Now I will say, last year, Lil had such a messy nest. Plucking in the nest. Feathers everywhere. This year, Clara's in deep competition for the messy nest award.

Glenn Stewart just posted something regarding activity level on the SF forum:

"We see this every year. It really is quite a bit warmer in SJ so little incentive for those birds to cuddle up. The nest box is against a large, south-facing slab of concrete that absorbs heat. The SF ledge is shaded most of the day--something peregrines like and appreciate--so what you see in SF is probably more representative of what happens in a wild eyrie. --glenn@scpbrg"

So, this explains it a little... Interesting fact.

Are these little ones supposed to be banded on 4/28 like the San Jose little ones?
