Hot and muggy in Columbus today...

All week 90+ ...

Hi Everyone! I just found this while looking for better answers about what happened here last year. I live here in Columbus, OH and I am shocked by the news of no justice for Scout. I only hope that the ODNR is more proactive working with those responsible for the buildings in downtown Columbus and educate anyone who has to go out on one the tops of the buildings. It has been a couple really bad years for Peregrine Falcons here.
I am excited about an Osprey nest I found here. There are 2 babies that are growing like weeds! There is also a fledging Bald Eagle about a quarter mile up the road from the Osprey nest. Guess there is some good news here!

Is your Osprey nest/Eagle nest in the Alum Creek area?
I read a article from John Switzer -Columbus Dispatch- about the Osprey @
Pickerington Ponds.

You are so right about the Peregrine Falcons having several tough
years in the downtown Columbus area :cryinggirl:

Thanks everyone! The Osprey nest I visit is on the south side of Columbus. I am really excited about it! Just over a week ago when I stopped by, I captured a few pictures of an intruder (another female)! Can I post pictures here?
I saw the Osprey nest at Pickerington Ponds last year and got a few pictures then. That is a very nice park to visit. I saw swans, egrets roosting in trees, great blue herons, and many others!
I am glad the cam will be back up on the Peregrines. I am really glad to have found this blog!

I love projects! I keep my camera handy too! As soon as I figure out how to post pictures, I can post one of the nest box I captured from the new park in downtown Columbus! :)

It is really exciting to have you join our forum, BirderJane another person close to home who loves to watch the falcons and other bird life in and around the Columbus area. I too am in Columbus and go downtown on a regular basis to watch for the falcons so if you are ever downtown I would love to meet you!

That is so frustrating when a web site keeps changing their site like photobucket does - just when I get used to it, it's changed - very frustrating!!

I can't seem to keep up with Durand and Matrix, every time I look at the web cam, there is no one there so these pictures are awesome!! Thank you adriaantje and arles -

Just an FYI. I have spoken with someone at the prosecutor's office. I first let them know about their email problems...um...they didn't know...and apparently this Jeff person no longer works there..(hmmmm...could this have been his parting gift?)

Anyway, they transferred me to someone else, but I only got voicemail...and that's it..Hopefully, I'll get a call back.
