Welcome back, Kim! Thanks for relaying all of today's action to Reenie for all of us to read. Have been thinking about No Band a lot today.

Lots of great coverage from the week just ended - thanks Faith, Greg, Kim, Reenie, Tim, Barb, MA and Susan E for the great information and pics. I wasn't up to much computering all week so I'm extra grateful for the second hand reports. An awful lot of material posted in a few days. Glad to hear that GG had a good first day of flying in WV - hope it continues. I'd love to see her head back to civilization, but then again, since she's already there, if she and a few others of her classmates set up housekeeping round about there, maybe they won't feel the need to hijack future juvies away from us. I just hope that she and NB survive and thrive wherever they end up. And the other ones, too. Is it a bit worrisome that Legs is still under medical observation? Or am I just a worry-wart?

Glad the Falcon Watch event was such a success - I recognized Faith in the first picture, but couldn't pick Kim out. Unless you were the woman with blond hair behind the boy in the foreground?

Kim, I hope you had a super vacation, but I'm glad you are safely at home and keeping up with the boys again!

:spring1:  :spring1:

I'm home from Ohio trip this weekend. Welcome home Kim. Glad we are all back safely. Glad for the report on GG and Silver. I too would love for Her to head North and start a nest where we would know where She is. After all, We all have a special connection with the four, after Kim kept us right on with pictures etc. and the Cam of course. That is the way it was for Her parents. We know them well, from EGG UP!
Thanks for all the posting to keep us all informed.

Here are some pictures of the kids that I just got around to processing. Green Girl and No Band were in the nestbox watching White Boy and Red Boy.

I agree about the stunning Moon picture. The sequence of Red Girl catching prey was also unbelievable. Poor woodpecker and cuckoo. :loveheart2: Bittersweet to see the pics of the girls and Yellow Boy. :cloudnine:

Kim, your pictures are amazing! I really like the ones of the girls looking down at the boys like they are wondering what they are doing down there! The moon shot is also great, IMO. It might not be what you were going for, but I like what it shows in any case. As others have already said, some are sort of bittersweet, but it's nice to see them too. Thank you for posting them!

Magnificent photography again, Kim. This is at least the second time that you have documented red-bellied woodpeckers flying way too close to the nest site, with predictable consequences.

For anyone who's interested, the cuckoo is a black-billed cuckoo. Kim has a similar shot of Caesar with a yellow-billed cuckoo a few years ago.

We already knew that CJ is a superb hunter, but Red Girl is no slouch either when she has a chance to get away from the nest. She just about ran the table on Hotel DuPont pigeons a month or two ago, and here she is with smaller, more exotic prey.

WOW!WOW! Kim you are THE BEST! They are spectacular!! The timing of the moon one is fantastic. You are #!!! Your pictures should be entered into some Hall of Fame!

I too felt pangs of sadness looking at the Girls and Yellow boy, but at least you captured them for all of memory sake. So important.

Wonderful pictures, Kim. Agreed it's sad about seeing Yellow and the girls. I didn't realize the birds were down on that lower ledge before they fledged. Don't remember who it was, but somebody took a picture of Red Girl's mom sitting on the steeple in Harrisburg a few years ago. There was a full moon behind her, and you could only see her outline, but never saw the pics. Can see it in my mind, though. A once in a lifetime view perhaps.

Amazing photos, Kim. The sequence of Red Girl going after the woodpecker is just truly phenomenal. It's just like being there - wow! she is one powerful bird! And the Moon picture is breathtaking! I know it's a disappointment when the shot doesn't come out how you hoped it would, but it is still a very beautiful shot, and the Moon behind the flying falcon just gets me all choked up. Thanks so much for sharing.

Bravo Kim! Your magnificent photographs just take my breath away. I loved the action sequence of Red Girl going after the Red-bellied Woodpecker (you were right, he didn't stand a chance) and the shot of the boys with the moon. Plus, it was so nice to see the shots of the girls watching the boys from the nest box and to see those shots of Yellow Boy. He was very special to me because he was only falcon in the wild that I ever saw close up when he was "parked" on the ledge by the garage roof.

Thank you, as always, for sharing your gift of photography with the rest of us.
