Back home from a 10 day stay in Ireland. Saw many, many crows everywhere.. They play dare devil on the highways. Sitting all over in the towns. Also Raven's on the beach of Dingle. Lot's of feathers on that beach. Striped ones, and then some as long as 12". All different kinds. Wash up in the tide with the sea weed. There were Magpies too. A local ident. them for me. Pairs of Raven's wings, that had met their demise. So beautiful there. Took over 1000 pictures and some video. Put the camera away and another "good " picture appeared. The Magpie's ride on the backs of the sheep. There are more sheep than people. At the hightest peaks, and all painted on their backs for ownership. A wonderful trip. Glad to be back though. No place like Home!

Welcome back Faith.

Were the crows grey bodied with black head, wings and tail? Hooded crows. Cool that you saw ravens and magpies. Red Girl and CJ don't want any of them around here, except that a careless magpie might serve as an entree.

No Greg, the Crows were all black. Was told the Raven's and Magpies are very vicious. The Raven's were mainly on the beach of the Dingle Bay were we stayed. right down from the house. They are very large compared to the Crow. Got many pictures. Magpies are beautiful with their white and black feathers. Saw another small bird, like a sparrow size with a reddish breast.

Red Girl and CJ just flew a few blocks southeast from the Brandywine Building, about rooftop high and calling. CJ perched on 1105 N. Market. Red Girl circled him a few times and flew off to the east. CJ returned to the box ledge.

Thanks for the report, Greg. Not sure where to post this, but I was in New York City yesterday, and spent part of the day birding in Central Park. Met up with another gal who was doing some birding as well. She told me that Pale Male and his current mate Lima raised two young Red-tails this year. I've seen Pale Male a couple times, but didn't have time to go search for him yesterday.

Well, rats. I missed seeing the visitor by about five minutes. Glad you caught the "tail end" of that, Reenie. Was that intended to be a pun?

Always checking, but no show. That nest is really deep. Rain and more rain!

While in town this morning looking for dead window strike birds, we saw both falcons! RG was sitting on the ledge of the nest box and CJ was on the ledge next to the nest box.

Heads found below the box included:
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Red-eyed Vireo
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Yellow-billed Cuckoo
