She didn't hurt the Osprey! I'm wondering if it was a young Osprey and they were playing since the Osprey came right back. Maybe because she doesn't have any siblings to play with.

My thanks too, Kim, for the wonderful pictures. I found the ones with Red and the Osprey to be especially interesting. Red looks like she's a big female.

I just realized that you said it was Red Girl in COLUMBIA, Kim! I was thinking it was Red Girl in Wilmington...duh! When you mentioned playing, that's when I got confused & re-read what was written. That would be neat if she had a playmate for a short bit of time! :clapegg:

Well, I keep checking, but I never catch anyone there. I can tell they have been there though, by the way the scrape looks. All cleaned out from the feathers. Hot today with high humidity!

The Morning Doves are moulting. I am finding many feathers in the yard. Some real nice ones with the spots on them.

They're both in the nestbox now doing their courtship bowing during this horrible storm!

I saw on the Weather Channel that Wilmington was getting clobbered. SO glad you found the two lovebirds in the nest box, Kim. I just checked, and nobody home at 1:15.

Whew! What a storm it was!! Was so glad to hear that they were in the box. Smart, aren't they? No one there now. We don't get much rain for days and then have a monster of a storm come through like that. The straight line winds pulled the water out of the drains at the shop. Inside the building. Must have created a vacuum. I was on my way home when it hit. Lightening hit a light I was sitting at in Arden and knocked it out. Obviously we have elect., but many do not.

Glad you made it through without loosing power! And definately a wise move on CJ & RG's part to do some bonding while taking cover! The national weather service had issued a tornado warning for that storm! Just saw a list of storm reports from northern Delaware, and a funnel cloud was sighted a mile or 2 north of Wilmington at 12:37 p.m. Quite a few reports of straight-line wind damage and 1"+ diameter hail in the area as well. Definately 1 nasty storm!!

Here are a couple fuzzy pics from during the storm earlier! You can just barely see CJ in upper right of first picture.

This is the first time I've ever seen them hanging out in the nestbox when the weather was bad! Not sure if it was just a coincidence or if they decided to take cover there.

Meredith sent an update tonight saying all is well with "Red" in Columbia! Last night she chased a Great Egret out of "their territory" and seemed to be very proud of herself. :)

Thanks Kim for the report on Red. That picture of Red Girl and CJ is adorable. They are just very content to sit there and look out at what was happening out there! With the winds, it was a good choice. We just had another storm, but not near as bad, except it got as dark as night.
