I was surprised to see that the Norwich female is a juvie--still in her first-year plumage. It will be interesting to see whether any of the eggs hatch.

Norwich, just one egg. She is incubating and I have also seen the male on the egg from time to time:

Newly-hatched falcons named after the royal couple

A PAIR of peregrine falcons who hatched just moments before Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding have been named after the royal couple.

How cute....after reading the article, the last paragraph referred to a contest to name the newest 2 chicks...does that mean the 4th egg hatched?

How about Pippa and Harry for the other two... :spring1:

Yes all 4 hatched there is one there that has me slightly worried but I'm sure its only because when I watch they are still sleepy there is a huge one that it seems is always awake it stands kind of over the other 3 like a big protector.

27th May - nest visit
A quick nest visit was made today in order to ring the chicks. The chicks weighed 705, 685 and 610 gms, suggesting that all three are females. Whilst the chicks were being measured, ringed and fitted with individually identifiable colour rings (orange with two letters), the remains of prey items were collected for identification. The unhatched egg was also removed and will be sent off for analysis.
The chicks seem pretty healthy and are now starting to grow their wing and tail feathers and they will develop rapidly in the next week or so. They will also become more mobile and in a few days will wander off the nest tray (and out of camera view), but they are likely to return to the tray from time to time
