This is the last update I have seen:

Hard incubation continues! It's getting close!

May 23, 2011 - Toronto - Don Mills

Mark Nash Reports:

We have just received updated news from Bruce that both Quest and Kendal are still hard at work with incubation activities at the Don Mills nest site. Despite the fact that they are incubating only one egg, they are never the less still very much committed. Its getting close to a hatch date if the pair have been successful and we are all watching them very closely.

Based on the start of their full time incubation activities, it is expected that if all has gone well, we should expect to see a hatch at the end of this week. As such, monitoring will be stepped up in the following days as the week progresses.

We must remember that Quest and Kendal are a new pair, still inexperienced, and this nesting thing is very new to them as first timers. There have been some challenges and bumps along the way, in addition to MANY factors that can cause a failed nest site. We have already seen lower success rates at many of the other southern Ontario nest sites this year, (and from experienced proven productive pairs) that have many addled / unhatched eggs in the nests this season.

All of our fingers are crossed!!

Stay tuned………….

Carly, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Irving at the Canada Square nest. Poor little guy. And the chicks are so young; it will be very difficult for the female. I hope that she will be able to manage; perhaps quail could be provided for her to supplement what she can provide. I think it is asking a bit much for her to accept a new male at this stage.

Don Mills

A brief update on Quest and Kendal from the CPF:

Quest and Kendal Still Incubating One Egg at Duncan Mill Road

May 27, 2011 - Toronto - Don Mills

Tracy Simpson Reports:

Bruce Massey was on-site for a visit to the nest at 220 Duncan Mill Road and was able to see, when the female stood up, that the resident pair are still incubating their single egg. This egg is due to hatch any day now and so Bruce will be regularily visiting over the following days to look for a hatch.

As I was reading back I posted a comment and I hope everyone realized I was talking about Milton and eggs and not the demise of Irving.

I should have put quote with it.

good to hear about Calgary.

Calgary

The two chicks; it was difficult to see during a feed, but I only saw one of the chicks moving around and being fed.

Well, that's concerning, Alison as I only saw one move as well...let's just hope we each saw a different chick move.

I hope so, SGB! I watched a feeding a little while ago, but Mom was in front of the chicks once again and I only had a partial view of the chick on the left. She went back to brooding the chicks immediately.

Good news....both chicks moving...I'm guessing these are the original two...the eggs look intact, but really hard to tell with this cam..
