The one I was watching trying to feed itself didn't seem to be doing too well, but the one facing the nest obviously has a nice-sized crop!

I think that's one of the juvies, Anca! Once the kids have left the nest, I don't think the adults perch here. Swift likes to perch on the roof of the nest structure, though.
