A little more on Rhea, from Wild Wings:

" Rhea"
May 17, 1984 - June 14, 2003 Wild Wings was so very fortunate to have a beloved Peregrine Falcon named Rhea. She lived for 19 years and was a magnificent creature. While in captivity, she educated thousands of people on falcons and also played a significant role in bringing back Peregrine Falcons from the brink of extinction.
She was a surrogate mother to over one hundred chicks that were released into the wild. Her legacy as a mother and teacher touched many hearts along with her sweet demeanor and selfless nature.
It was with heavy hearts that we had to say goodbye. May she fly forever free and know that part of her always remains in our hearts. She allowed people to learn and carry on the message of environmental stewardship by being able to experience her up close in all her splendor.
Rhea Mae, offspring of the local wild falcons Mariah and Kaver, was named after Rhea at Wild Wings. Rhea Mae was hatched in 2006 and now lives in Toronto on top of the Sheraton. May she continue to fly the skies of the North and nurture many young Peregrines in the years ahead.
