Close-up is the first 21 seconds or so and then it freezes. Shortly after came Swift or Beau with breakfast which one of the young grabbed and "played" with. I have a video of that but YouTube isn't letting me open it, I'll try another time.

Thanks, Arles. Both a happy & sad occasion...

Now one is eating while the other stands in the doorway.

Oh man, I just got a chance to open the cam a few minutes ago and thought, uh oh. I even went to the site to see if there was some news about a fledge. Glad that you saw it. They all still seemed a little fluffy to me, but they don't often wait until we think they are ready. I hope the folks there are watching. Good luck sweetheart. :cheer

Actually, the one that I thought would have been the first fledge wasn't. That one didn't have any obviously visible fluff left, but it was the one eating earlier. Hope they come back to visit the nestbox once they can get that high again.

Well parent just left and flew straight out with the prey. I think the one in the box would have eaten more, but saving some for the fledgling I guess.

Just saw your post catwoman, did I miss both parents there while posting?

There must have been a fledge, because only two juvies are to be seen in the nest box during that feed!

In your second picture, I believe that's both parents & one kid. The chest of the one facing the cam seems to be too white to be a kid.

The parent flying away with the prey indicates to me that the fledgling landed somewhere safely, so thanks so much for mentioning that!

Pretty sure that was a juvie even though the breast looks white. It has a little fuzz on it's head. I watched the entire feed from delivery to takeaway.
That one juvie did not seem interested in eating.

Some flapping going on for a while.

I am so far behind here, it is ridiculous. But thankfully all of you have captured this nest's activities and growth. Thank you to all. Can't believe there has already been a fledge. :crazygirl:
