One of the adults appears to have fishing line tangled around its bill. We will do the best we can but loons are very difficult to capture if they are diving well.

Two biologists from LPC were able to capture the loon & remove the fishing line. This may not be the end of the story though, so please stay tuned as we learn more. It may take that loon a little while to get back on the nest but don't worry; loons sometimes leave their eggs unattended up to an hour at a time.

Most of the fishermen and women remove their lines and dispose of them properly, but it only takes one who carelessly discards them. Thanks for the report Beth.

Dad loops around to the nest..its hard to see, but baby is in the water and dad has put it in reverse. The swimming lesson didn't last long..I was hoping they would come into view at the top, but they never did..
