Raven's nest
Wellesley College, Wellesley, Massachusetts

There were 5 eggs this year, I'm not sure whether there are 5 or 4 chicks but at least 4.

May 18, 2017: Room and board! Nestling robins usually fledge at 12 – 14 days. It’s been 10 days since the first egg hatched.

We have mourning doves in our yard. The platform feeders keep them off the ground and safe from outdoor cats.

I was glad to find this mourning dove webcam in LaVerne. Now I have a bird's eye view of their nest. No information on when the eggs were laid.

July 5, 2017: These mourning doves have two eggs in their nest. Father and mother take turns incubating the eggs. When taking off, their wings make a sharp whistling or whinnying. Mourning Doves are the most frequently hunted species in North America.

Incubation period: 14 days

LaVerne, California
