"Keep your paws crossed! This morning, Zoo veterinarians saw some exciting movement during giant panda Mei Xiang’s ultrasound. Her fetus was kicking and swimming in the amniotic fluid. Its spine and blood flow were also clearly visible. We hope to have a healthy cub in the coming days! Follow along on social media using the hashtag #PandaStory."

'Joyous news: a precious giant panda cub has arrived! Mei Xiang gave birth at 6:35 p.m. and is caring for her newborn attentively. Keepers are watching Mei Xiang’s behavior and hope to see her nurse the cub and cradle it close to keep him/her warm. They’re also listening for loud squeals, which are signs of a healthy cub.'

Had a lot of difficulty trying to get the cam and when I finally did there is a lot of buffering and freezing and sometimes stops and says "The live event has ended", but could hear the baby squawking and squealing in between!! She's repositioning frequently with it for now and I have not actually seen it yet.:eggthumb:

:flirty: And just saw this on the chat of another site: "My Panda Tour was going to be doing a live broadcast this evening for Bei's birthday but due to the flooding in Sichuan its not safe to travel to Bifengxia Panda Base."

Edit to add: I guess they are going to be on our local news tonight. Found this tidbit from that site:

"At 22, Mei Xiang is the oldest giant panda to successfully give birth in the United States. The oldest in the world gave birth in China at age 23."
