Harrison Mills

CAM LINK:

This nest is 175 feet up a huge Douglas fir - on the 10th green of the Sandpiper Golf course!
The 2 PTZ cams will offer fantastic views of the eagle activity on the Chehalis - Harrison Flats to the North East.

Site Sponsorship: These nest cams and incredible installation have been funded by the Pretty Estates Resort, which includes the Sandpiper Golf Course, Rowena's Inn on the River and the fine Rivers Edge Restaurant.

Chehalis Flats

CAM LINK: (Currently off-line)

In early October, when the Harrison River and surrounding waters have receded after the spring and summer freshetts, we'll be putting two cameras out on the estuary to allow you to watch the eagles and other wildlife feeding on the spawning salmon. In the past, more than 1000 eagles have been seen in this area on a single day.

In addition to the two estuary cameras, we have an under water camera in the spawning channel at the entrace to the Chehalis fish hatchery. During the Eagle Festival, we'll be featuring some video taken by hand-held cameras in and around the Tapedira area to the West of the Estuary. Included in these we're hoping to have interviews with and commentaries by local naturalists and conservationists.

Mission

CAM LINK:

This nest is on the property of very enthusiastic eagle watchers - who have named the pair Jack and Jill. Jack and Jill had one eaglet fledge in 2011 and one fledged in 2012. They built their nest in 2010.

It is located in the Fraser Valley, about 5 miles east of Mission on the way to the Chehalis - Harrison River complex.

I forgot about this nest ... but found out yesterday that the same thing is happening here that happened at the Maine nest. I don't think the little one will make it. Huge size difference ... and the larger one will not let the younger one eat at all. :(

Little Bogey (as named) – (the older chick named Birdie as the nest is on a golf course), sadly left us this morning. Amazingly for the past day or so, mom eagle has spent much time brooding Bogey, as if to comfort him, knowing that he would soon be gone. There are many who feel now that given the behavior of the parents, it may be that something was wrong with Bogey physically from the beginning. It is something that we as humans, will probably never know, but it does not diminish the sadness that we feel. Bogey was a fighter from the beginning, hatching out of that double shell, but it was ultimately not to be. Condolences to all who love this nest and little fighter Bogey.

Awww. That is so sad. I do believe there may have been something wrong since the beginning. Thanks for sharing eagleholic's post SGB.

After being away almost 24 hours, Mom finally returns to the nest. Yesterday (May 8) she left around 6:30 AM. During the time she was away, Dad had a ten minute break from incubating. We thought Mom had been injured....or worse. :(

First egg laid: April 4, 2014

Bald Eagle Nest at Harrison Mills

Nicknames: Mr. and Mrs. Honeycomb
Haliaeetus leucocephalus
