well we have 2 here and the female has spent the night so far . I do think close to an egg. a juvenile made itself home in nest bed but both male and female adult came in together to chase it off. then it came around again and then male chased it beyond far nest to right of nest tree

male came in a bit ago . and has just left , like he was checking up on her. He is seeming to be protecting her, or th e nest site.

Bringing this forward because I found a video by BirdieCam of what I saw. The new adult eagle couple definitely seem to be working well together in defense of their nest.

both were on nest around 6am this morning. female was just in , called and left. this male appears to be same one for last few days. When he first arrived, she chased him off but now she seems to be getting used to him. let us hope he is a keeper

did video of all 4 cams , with female coming in. you can see her coming in and if you follow all four cams when she leaves, you can see whee she flies to.
quite windy. can almost feel the chill
have more time on weekends to do this

two altercations this afternoon. gets confusing but no one is hurt. in second one both go to ground but both fly off

videos cooking so will be right back. i di d one real time and 2 slow motion for first altercation so you can see that they did not hit ground and were fine halfway down

here it is. male comes in was there a bit when other eagle comes in . they go down onto ground but not too hard and one goes towards trees, you can see it if you keep following and second one gets off ground and heads opposite direction

one has been back since and flew out

this video was before first altercation. eagle to nest and then flew off. you can see another eagle in background to east. if you watch you can see one fly west and then one comes to nest

after all of this this eagle came in.


not going to make any proclamatios of who is who for sure but I do believe we kept seeing same male coming to nest.

two visitors this morning. one only stayed a minute and left and the other, stayed quite awhile

Terrible ground fight. Today. I do not know if they both survived. They turned cam off it . One had other pinned on ground. I am very shaken . I do know that as of 30 minutes ago we have a male and female . They were both in nest tree. You could tell the males was in fight by looking at beak . It has just flown off. I saw a truck drive onto field by tree across from nest tree. My hope is that they both survived. The male that flew off nest tree seemed to be watching skies.

Yes, you can tell from males beak that he was in that fight. Female was in tree right across from nest tree and fight was below her

Male just flew

Just heard back from EC as I emailed them. One is deceased and will be picked up by authorities in morning.
Let’s hope things settle now.

I will be back in about an hour with photos of female and surviving male . Feet a bit battered or muddy, beak looks sore but see no signs of any other punctures.

As of 6:30 Maclean has flown off and female is in remote tree cam forgot to put frame 3 back but can still figure things out.

please bear with water marks. I tested this last year and am in process of buying program. So sad , today. My heart is really hurting. I have rescued and picked up many a falcon, deceased and alive. I have th e pleasure of releasing so many back . I have young ones( 3 weeks) at home and juveniles , till biologist can pick up or I get them checked so we can put back at nest site. But it always hurts when we have to pick up one that is deceased.

Such is their life. may it soar free now

female and I both see tow eagles fly behind, one lower than the other


from watching disputes form the ground I can only guess that the one higher drove the other to the ground or they both tumbled to ground. I am only posting this photo. I do not post worse. not my nature. too sad



the cam eventually left them , I was relieved as I left the computer for a bit.
a bit later female flew to tree to left of nest tree and chased an eagle out of there. The eagle flew to remote tree . It was a male. must have flown to that tree after the fight but we did not see that

at 8:54pn female had flown earlier and is is still in remote tree

just turning off cam . but an owl attacked eagle on remote tree. I think it was female that went there. it flew off and eagle moved more toward the trunk. but it came back and attacked again. eagle and owl flew east.

just a bit ago I saw an owl fly on a branch on nest tree, on left side , cam one. and it flew of f and went over to th e stag tree to right, then it flew in plain view where one of eagles usually sits on net tree, but when it flew off and other was below, which I did not see and both flew north.

I will not be able to do as much during week, but will do what I can. want this nest to be successful

will post a few photos later but two at nest this morning. moderators say they believe this is male known as skippy and has been around and of course the female. they both ate scraps in nest and after a while both left. they both came in about a half hour ago and male left and female is still there. think same male. But I am looking for markers for me, so I can know.

I guess we wait and see. maybe he will bring a snack in.
