:7val: At 8:32, Nicholas sees EC4 for the 1st time! He brought in a stick and Victoria flew. He went to the edge of the bowl and stood there awhile looking down at intervals at his babes. Then he decided to pull up the remainders of a fish lying at the bowl and proceeded to get a bite for himself and a couple for EC3. EC4 was initially raising it's head up for a bite before EC4 was fed, but lost it's position and ended up behind EC4. Nicholas decided to brood instead.

:7val: Nicholas did a feed at 9:02, but EC4 did not get a bite this time. Nicholas did attempt to give it a bite, but was too large and he withdrew it. Another feed by Nicholas at 10:26, but only EC3 got bites. Victoria came in and Nicholas flew. But, he returned at 10:46 with a large fish!! Victoria gets up and Nicholas snaps at the flies flying about, then he moved to the branch. Victoria feeds herself from the large fish initially. At 10:52, Nicholas flies. At 10:53 Victoria begins feed, but EC3 seems to be sleeping and this allows EC4 to get it's 1st bite! Then it tumbles and Victoria decides to brood!! :7val:

:7val: Per mod, Eagle Country has named EC3: "Hickory" d/t lots of hickory trees in the area. And EC4: "Mossy" d/t Spanish Moss being abundant in the area. :7val:

:1val: Problems with nest cam this eve, but other cams are working. EC is working on nest cam.

:1val: Nest cam is working late this evening. Went back to review some of their feeds today. As the day progressed, so did Mossy in getting bites. Hickory slept through parts of 1 or 2 of them and at another she was a little sluggish in taking the bites she was exclusively being offered. I saw bonking at one feed, but it was very mild as far as effort of the strike goes. Mossy was submissive to Hickory once, but it was Mossy who actually bonked first. Tonight Nicholas is staying on a branch of the nest tree while Victoria broods. Hopefully, they will not have to deal with an owl attack and the harassment they dealt with last night.

:1val: Victoria on the nest and I can not see Nicholas. Strong storms are currently moving through the area and can be seen on cam 3. Several feedings today that went well for Hickory and Mossy. There is some light bonking that appears harmless. Sometimes Mossy initiates, but no submission from Hickory and sometimes Hickory initiates with submission at times from Mossy, but Mossy does not stay down long. One time they were bonking and not being fed and I think it was Nicholas standing off to the side and he noticed them and just went in and brooded, shutting them down. Surprisingly, sometimes it is hard to tell them apart on the overhead at feeds.

:1val: They have had a great day. I watched a couple feeds and both are getting their share. Bonking continues by both, but not too harsh. Mossy started the day getting the 1st bites of food. At 3:14-3:15 on the DVR, you can see that although the youngest, Mossy actually starts the bonking with a robust posterior attack and not to be outdone, Hickory after the shock wears off ... reciprocates!

:1val: Victoria brooding and Nicholas is on the snag tonight. Had to go back on the DVR to catch up with them today. Saw a few feeds with what seemed to be less bonking and it remains harmless. There were several feeds today and caught Nicholas coming in with a nice fish at 1:54 this afternoon.

:1val: First small feed with 1st bonk began at about 6:58 this morning while the IR was still on!

:1val: Several great feeds today. All got bites. Harmless bonking. Victoria is brooding and Nicholas is sleeping on the nest tree with his head tucked at 11:10.

:1val: Another great day for them! Earlier today I was watching Hickory and Mossy during a quiet time and thinking how sweet they were together and all of a sudden a bonking session erupted out of nowhere! :teehee: Nobody got hurt. Currently, Victoria is brooding and Nicholas is tucked on the nest tree!

:1val: The nest cam is not working for me. When I 1st came in both Nic and Vic were on separate branches. Now Vic's talons are in view on the rails. Saw pic on FB today of Hickory starting to come up the sides of the bowl already! Vic is standing at the edge of the bowl now as I leave.

:flirty: Saw a feeding this afternoon without any bonking and both got bites. The bites are getting bigger now. They are moving around the nest more, very active. Victoria is on the nest and I saw 1 of them pop it's head up. I think they are both sleeping in front of her chest area as she is standing in the bowl not lying. Nicholas is sleeping on the nearest snag tonight.

:15heartbeat: Victoria is sleeping with her head tucked while standing at the back of the bowl with Hickory and Mossy sleeping in front of her. Nicholas is on the near snag with the heavy, misty, fog coming in!

:15heartbeat: Victoria is on the nest and I am unable to find Nicholas tonight. Saw the video today by EC of Hickory getting very close to the rails, then Victoria pulled up a fish that he was on ... oh my, that was a close call!! :nervous:

:15heartbeat: Saw a feed today where both Hickory and Mossy got bites without any bonking. Also saw them sleeping right at the top sides of the bowl earlier today. Victoria is on the nest and Nicholas is sleeping on the near snag currently.

:15heartbeat: Hickory and Mossy are in the nest bowl and squirmy tonight! Victoria is standing on the nest and I do not see Nicholas. Saw another feed today where they were taking turns, although Hickory got the most bites, but no bonking at least with this feed this morning.

:15heartbeat: Victoria's having trouble getting them to settle tonight! Hickory and Mossy keep popping their heads up. Nicholas is on the snag.
