:eggthumb: B did spend the whole night last night either sleeping on the nest or the left branch. He also met Rocky on one of his many visits to the nest during the night. But fortunately not the one when Rocky went up to B as he slept for a quick look and sniff! B left out early this morning, but returned and spent most of the day. He did have a longer out and about later in the day. Fish was on the menu today and both Pa and Mom were in and out. B is currently on the left rear, branch and awake, but he has pretty much slept all evening.

:flirty: B did spend the entire night last night. He flew out this morning and returned. Plenty of fish today from Pa and Mom. He had to circle the nest a couple times before finding the pathway in after Pa's arrival with a fish a couple times, but he made it. Sometimes he self-fed and other times they fed him. A couple fluff deliveries by parents and a stick to place by Mom today. B is spending the night again and currently is preening.

:eggthumb: B is spending the night on the nest and currently is asleep. Fish was brought in today. Both Pa and Mom were in and out. Mom brought a stick in this evening and B got her foot and was reluctant to release. There was an unknown intruder today that B spotted from the nest and tracked and was vocal with Pa arriving to the left branch immediately and alerting. Pa must have been on a nearby tree. There was no need to give chase and the intruder did not return to the area that I am aware of. Unfortunately, the app cam went down during the night last night.

:eggthumb: Another great day at Berry, but a little windy. B has been in and out today, even left once while parent there still working on fresh fish. In addition to fish being brought in there was also 1 unidentified prey remains. Both Pa and Mom have been in and out today. B is staying overnight and is currently asleep on the nest with his head tucked.

:egg8: B saw an intruder in the area and stood and was vocal with Pa coming in immediately and vocal. Both watched overhead and about and from the nest cam we could see the shadow from the flyovers. After about 4 minutes Pa flew out to give chase that we could see from the app cam. Also, from the app the intruder appeared to be a subadult eagle with a heavy terminal band noted on the tailfeathers in 1 frame, otherwise could only see a large brown-looking bird that kept circling about or doing flybys. The last time seen it appeared to be very near the tree and possibly going to land, but that is when Pa gave chase. Later on, a couple shadow flyovers could be seen from the nest cam, but only B present to react slightly, unless Pa or Mom were handling offscreen. B had more fish today and sometimes he self-fed and other times a parent fed him. He is spending the night tonight on the rear left, branch and is currently asleep with his head tucked.

:egg8: Tuesday the 18th was another day with plenty of fish to eat for B. Pa brought in most of them, but Mom did bring in one. Also, the intruder returned per B and Mom's reactions, but there were not any problems. Did see an eagle land on the tree per the app, but unable to tell if it was the intruder or Pa responding. It is difficult to follow through with any action as the app cam is freezing at frequent intervals and sometimes the freeze lasts for 10-12 seconds. Just before dark an eagle flew to the right of the nest with B tracking, but no reaction and Mom alerting from a tree in the rear. B did spend the night on the left rear, branch.

:egg8: Today the 19th, it was fish, fish and more fish. Again, Pa brought in the most. B had plenty to eat today. There was probably an intruder flyover of the nest while Pa was there once, but again no problems developed. This evening Mom brought in a fish, but did not eat it, just stood by it. Pa showed up about half an hour later and when he reached down to maybe take the fish or get a bite he huffed then snapped at Mom and she snapped on him and he lost his balance and was falling toward the left, but threw his wing out to catch himself. In time B showed up after having a little trouble getting to the nest. It seems he came in below the nest on the right, then made so much noise trying to get up to the nest that Pa went over to look down to see what was going on. B had to end up flying out, but did return and land on the nest. Pa left right away and Mom fed B. Eventually she left too. B is spending the night here and currently is lying on the nest awake.

:egg8: B is not home tonight as he is sleeping on one of the rear trees. He had been off the nest tree for quite awhile when he flew by to the left of it sometime before dark and could be seen flying up into one of the trees. Later he or a parent flew to a tree closer to the nest tree before flying farther back, but too many trees obscuring who was who. He opened up another fish by himself today and was self feeding before Mom decided he needed a little help plus she was hungry. Unsure how he would do with a mammal by himself as none have come in whole for a long time. Pa and Mom both brought in fish today for B.

:flirty: B came in at 6:55 this morning from a rear tree to the nest. He was in and out through the day and is spending the night here. Currently he is on the nest and has been sleeping at intervals. He opened another fish today and did self-feeding quite a bit and was also fed by his parents at one point or another. In addition to fluff and a stick, several fish were brought to the nest between Pa and Mom.

:flirty: B did spend the night here last night, but unsure of when he left this morning. He had a rough night for awhile as a thunderstorm rolled through. All cams were coming and going, but eventually stayed on. Since however, the app cam is down as per its usual reason probably. Before the rain was heavy he was windsurfing on the nest, but soon all heck broke loose with thunder, lightning and heavy rain for a bit. B had a great day and both parents were in. B spent most of the afternoon resting on the nest. He did have a hawk flyby the nest that he was very aware of, but it caused no problems. Pa brought in a turtle early this evening for B which was a first for him (at least as seen per cam) and B seemed to really enjoy this new food. B flew off a little before dark to spend the night on one of the trees behind the nest tree area. An adult eagle could be seen flying in the rear at two different times after B left and I imagine both Pa and Mom are back there too for the night.

:egg8: B is spending the night away from the nest again. He did stop by for a very short visit before dark, but then flew to the rear. Over the next several minutes he could be seen flying and landing about the trees back there. He was around off and on today. While Mom was present earlier today there was an unknown intruder flying above and about the nest and she did pursue it twice after alerting it seemed. The app remains down. Pa and Mom both brought fish in early this morning for B and Mom brought one in this afternoon.

:flirty: B most certainly had his fill of fish once again today. He did spend some time on the nest, but he is roosting away from the tree tonight. Pa and Mom were both in and out not only with the fish, but both made a stick delivery for the nest.

:egg8: Did not get to watch much today. B is not spending the night on the nest tree. Did get to see B and Mom once today and I bet Pa stopped by too, but didn't get to see him.

:eggthumb: Another day of not being able to watch much here, but did see all 3 here. B chose to spend the night elsewhere again and saw Mom and Pa fly up to a rear tree to settle for the night.

:eggthumb: B is spending the night on the nest! It was right before dark when he gulped the last piece of squirrel pelt and he just ended up staying. Pa brought the squirrel in a bit earlier and I'm not sure but that it wasn't almost all pelt. B also ate fish today. Mom was also in throughout the day. After the squirrel delivery Pa came back with a stick to place and ended up helping B by de-furring and pulling it into strands so more manageable to eat. B is currently standing and preening.

:egg8: B is sleeping away from the nest tree tonight. Did hear him in the distance a little while before dark. He along with his parents were in and out today. Earlier today, strangely Pa came in with a fish and flew out leaving it alone on the nest to flop about. A little over 10 minutes later Pa flew in, grabbed it and flew out. A fish was brought in early this morning that B did eat on the nest. A cam viewer received word from a photographer of the Berry eagles they are feeding B off the nest also.

:egg8: B was not on the nest as much today. He did stop by early for a fish and then late this evening for a few minutes. Mom had brought in a fish earlier in the evening that he was a no show for and so eventually she ate it. Both parents were in today.

:CLAPS: Posting for yesterday and today. No changes really, B still coming and going. Pa and Mom still bringing food in for him. All 3 came in this morning early and were alerting, however the intruder was never seen on cam and caused no harm that anyone knows of. But one thing today that WAS DIFFERENT is B flew to the nest with a fish, not one that he caught, but still. Mom had just been in with a fish and B was not home, so she left with the fish and about a minute later B flies in with a fish. They made the exchange somewhere off cam apparently. As far as anyone can remember so far, a juvie here at Berry has never flown to the nest with a fish. The following is a video of the event by Bel-a-Donna:

"Berry College Eagles: B16 Brings in a Fish"

:egg8: B made 5 visits to the nest this morning, 3 of which he brought a stick with him. All of his visits were very short except the last one as he stayed the afternoon. (More coming for yesterday 5/2 and today.)
