:loveheart: She got her breaks in today, although recently he seems to be away in the afternoons and comes in later for the last one. No food was brought in. Did see fluff delivered. Mom is currently on the nest for the overnight.

:loveheart: This morning Pa brought in part of a coot for Mom, then flew out and she ate it. A little later Pa returned and Mom took a 4 hour and 3 minute break. Pa never returned for a late afternoon break. Mom put up with more rain today while she incubated, but it stopped early this evening.

:flirty: Finally a nice sunny day and I think Pa went back to a more regular break schedule for Mom. He even made a fluff delivery right as it was getting dark, but didn't stay. There were intruders in the area that were difficult to ID this afternoon. In fact I did not realize there were 2. Per cam 1 you could see frequent shadow flyovers with swooping and per app could see 1 large solid colored bird with no white. Turns out Bel asked a photographer that was there taking photos of Mom and he said there were 2 juvie bald eagles buzzing the nest. Pa was keeping an eye on them from the nest and fussed a couple times and when Mom flew in they were both alerting as there was just another flyover. Pa flew and I bet he escorted them out of the area, but don't know for sure. Rocky has been about at least late this evening and Mom is aware.

:loveheart: Mom is incubating the eggs for the overnight. She received regular breaks from Pa throughout the day. No food was brought in. Just nest supplies. Rocky has been in and got very close to Mom, then scurried away. She awakened after and is aware he's around.

:flirty: Pa came in twice during the night last night and was insisting on incubating the eggs. Mom ignored him and got away with it the 1st visit, but not the 2nd, so Pa did spend some time on the eggs overnight. When finished, he went to the left rear, branch to stay the remainder of the night. He also gave breaks on a regular basis throughout the day. Fluff and at least 1 stick were brought in today. Mom is currently on the eggs for the overnight.

:loveheart: What a day with lots of rain and wind this afternoon. Pa had already been on the nest for some time when it hit and he remained on duty during the storm. He ended up doing a long stint, but later in the day he returned with something for her to eat that she gulped down in 1 shot. Someone thought it was a rat, but I hope not. Went back to try to enlarge and see better, but the reset got me. Rocky has been about this evening and awakened Mom and shortly afterwards she went spread eagle and huffed at him.

:flirty: Hopefully the chicks will be hatching sometime next week. Pa was late coming in for the 1st break this morning, but when he did come he brought in a squirrel. Mom did not eat it at the time, she flew out for her break instead. Thought she would eat later when she returned, but she did not. It is on the right side of the nest and has been covered with fluff as they have repositioned themselves throughout the day and brought the fluff forward, some of it ended up over the squirrel. Rocky was in again this evening with an early start.

:loveheart: On 1/14 Mom finally ate the squirrel before dark that Pa brought in early the day before. Nest exchanges were routine. No prey brought in today, only fluff for the nest.

:flirty: Pa and Mom did their usual nest exchanges throughout the day. Pa brought in some fluff on one of his visits. Bel who was at the nest today reported when Mom left from one of her breaks, she went to their favorite perch tree for a few minutes, then she soared going higher and higher with a small hawk chasing her. Rocky has been out and about the nest tree this evening waking Mom at times. And at long last, we should see pipping and hatching eggs this week!

:flirty: This morning Mom seemed to react to her eggs some by stopping and looking down at them for some long looks. She was also repositioning a little more frequently and really built the fluff up high around her chest area. Then Pa came on egg duty and did not react at all. She had 1 really long break this afternoon. We received some ground reports today of where they were perching or headed off to when not on the nest by Bel. Have not seen anymore reaction to the eggs today, but I bet it won't be long now.

:loveheart: Forgot to post here last evening. For 1/17/23 No pip noted today and no reactions to eggs from Pa or Mom. Mom took another extra long break today. Very heavy fog rolled in this evening and remained through the night causing beads of moisture to form on Mom's feathers. Rocky was also about.

:loveheart: Nest exchanges continue through the day. No reaction to eggs by Mom or Pa. No pips seen. Fluff and a stick were delivered today. Pa did bring in the remains of an unknown mammal that Mom ate, but he did not stay. This was near the end of the day. Mom is currently on egg duty.

:loveheart: No pips have been noted as yet. No chirps heard. They did their usual nest exchanges today. Fluff was brought in and I might add it was a large load per Pa. Also, sticks brought in. Mom brought in a big one. Just recently she has been restless over her eggs for several minutes changing positions frequently and tending to them. And then she tucked her head and went to sleep. Will be going back soon to check cam 2 during her restlessness, but she usually hangs tight over them and we can only get partial glimpses at times.

Went back and did not see nor hear anything, but she was up and down 7 times from 2:20 to 2:51 am.

:5val: Edit to add video of egg chirps by BEL-a-Donna:

Edit to add:

:loveheart2: The pipped egg can be seen from cam 2 at 2:06 am.

:loveheart2: The latest best look to see the cracked egg and moving parts is at 12:34 pm from cam 2, but no sound from this cam, only sound is with cam 1. Pa is on egg duty and got off egg for a moment at this time. Earlier this morning they were dealing with an intruder in area, but no harm done they just had to shoo away.

:loveheart2: Next good look from cam 2 at progressing egg is last half of 1:57 minute and 1st part of 1:58. Pa flew out at 1:57 and Mom was back at 1:58 for egg duty.
