Dad just brought in a nice BIG fish. I love how Mom softly speaks to him. :loveheart2: Mom is now feeding the fresh catch of the day....very civilized feed. I saw one bonk, but the other chick did not faceplant and did not even retaliate. Mom fed one and then the other. She made sure each got a share. They each took a few big bites and then refused anymore...both stuffed.

Dad brings in a monster fish. Mom is softly talking to him. Check out her rainy hairdo...lol.
Image

When I switched to the overhead cam, the chick on the bottom of the pic was face-down. Not sure if I missed a bonk. Once that head popped back up, he/she gave the chick on top one real good bonk,...but there was no faceplant and no bonking back by the other chick. That's one tough little tyke.
Image

All stuffed. Mom kept trying to feed, but no one would open their mouth.

Mom and Dad are doing nestorations today. Must be a warm day, as the kids are panting in the sun. Dad is moving sticks and Mom is pulling dead things up from under the "truckloads" of hay...lol. Mom just flew off, leaving Dad to babysit. He is shading the kids and one of them just snuggled up against him and went to sleep. Adorable.
:flirty:

Nestorations. Mom digging things up from the hay and Dad moving sticks. Look at the little one standing up tall. No bonking while I watched.
Image

The kiddies and whatever Mom dug up from the bowels of the nest.

Giving Mom a break. Love how the chick in the foreground snuggled up to Dad to sleep.

These two munchkins are soooooo adorable. They study every move Mom makes as she fixes up the nest... again. Very well behaved kiddies.

mom got the kids back in bowl for evening. She brought in some straw and tucked around them

things going good here. They are such a great team

dad brought a nice big fish yesterday ad mom brought in a big squirrel. the squirrels in my area are so small, that I find it incredible how big these are

I will be back with a few videos from yesterday( I am always in a hurry these days)

because of time of day it is a little blurry. watch times as I edited.( it would have been over an hour if I had not) this was later in day and dad came in with a wee tidbit, and then he started to feed mom little bits. I loved it. mom fed the kdis, boht adutls ate , mom left and came back with more straw to keep kids in bowl. dad has spent a lot of time with mom on nest the last few days. it has been nice to see.

:8snowflake: Wow Bev...isn't that something how the parents recognized the problem with the kids traveling about and took steps to contain them? They raised the sides of the crib! :teehee: I love Dad trying to feed Mom. What a pleasure to watch them. Love the video...thanks!

Windy day today. Temp is 58. Mom is keeping the kids partially covered...they're a bit too big for her to brood, but I give her an "A" for trying. She has been covering them with straw. I saw one of the kids playing with her talon...trying to pull it off...twisting back and forth...lol. Mom just ignored it...she didn't even look down.

Two little heads, side-by-side under Mom.
Image

This feisty chick grabbed hold of Mom's talon and was twisting it back and forth. Mom paid no mind. I'm glad this wasn't directed at its nest-mate. Yikes! I did see one bonk, but Mom very skillfully repositioned herself, putting an end to it.

The kids are uncovered today. Mom just came in to relieve Dad. I haven't watched long enough to see if he gave a feed, but one kid, the larger of the two, has a huge crop and the other looks empty. The larger one tried preening and was soooooo top heavy with that crop, he/she fell backwards, but quickly got upright...lol. The smaller one is vocal, peeping in between snoozes. Probably hungry. There are leftovers in the nest.

The chick at the top of the picture looks like the older sibling and had a nice full crop.

Well...Mom knows best. She just started a feed and guess who moved up to the front of the line...the little one. A very eager eater. The older chick is too stuffed, but did take a few bites and then moved over to the crib rails to look out over the world. They are out of the bowl. Looks like an absolutely gorgeous day at Berry College.

Before - Mom starts to feed the younger sibling, who had an empty crop.
Image

After - Look how that crop ballooned! The older sibling is behind Mom, up against the railing.
