:shockedsanta: Ma just came in, she's been gone since 1:17. They are alerting, unfortunately they have had an intruder today! Pa just flew, probably after the intruder! You can see Pa on the nest reacting to an intruder well before you see a fly by at 4:26 and 4:28 from earlier this afternoon. He continued to keep an eye on it afterwards too!! Ma continues to alert right now. After 2-3 minutes, when Ma alerts you can hear Pa in the distance.

:shockedsanta: Eagle screams in distance and Ma evacuates the nest immediately at 5:39 and Pa to the nest within seconds, still 5:39!! Pa remains on nest at 5:40 and alerts. Pa rolls the egg and lies down on the bowl at 5:42. Pa remains on the egg at 5:50 and Ma has not returned. There she is ... Ma back at 6:02!! Pa's talking to her. And they alert!! Oh dear, how long is this going to go on tonight? Pa flew at 6:05. Ma to the egg at 6:07. Hopefully with the sun setting, things will settle down. I have to be honest, when I heard the eagle scream and Ma take off like that, I was afraid Pa was in trouble, but he made it to the nest too quickly to be in trouble. Unless someone was on the ground and reports, I guess we will never know if it was Pa or the other eagle screaming.

:flirty: Ma alerts at 11:21 and you can hear Pa respond in the distance.

:15heartbeat: Ma flew at 7:23 after having spent the night. Pa arrived a minute later and did some aeration in the bowl till the egg was visible, then he decided to lie down over it. He got up and went to the left branch at 7:35 and flew a minute later. He's back at 7:40 and eventually to lying on the bowl.

:15heartbeat: Pa flew at 10:11. Ma arrived to the left branch a half minute later. At 10:55 after something catching her interest out the right of the nest, she flew to the back rails without ever going to the egg and down and up to the back woods. Pa flew in from the back at 10:59 and got over the egg, where he remains at 11:10.

:15heartbeat: Pa flew at 11:25. Ma came in to the back of the nest at 11:26, alerted and flew! Apparently, there is an intruder in the area again today. As of 11:32, nobody has arrived to the nest yet. Pa arrived at the end of the 11:33 minute and shortly, he alerts. He went to the left branch at 11:37 without ever getting on the egg. He flew at 11:38. He returns to the left branch at 11:40 and then to the egg where he remains at 1:10.

:1snowman: Pa has remained on the bowl, until he sees Ma coming in to the rear rails at 1:53 and they both immediately alert. Pa goes to a left branch out of sight, but when she alerts he responds too. I saw a wing flash through to the left side of the nest toward the back and I believe he flew at 1:55. Shortly, she alerts. Then wing flashes across the front of the nest going toward the right and I believe it is Pa, but have not checked the AC yet. At 1:57, Ma is intently watching in that direction. She hops down onto the nest at 2:15, goes to the egg and rolls it, then aerates, brings the fluff closer, lies on the bowl, brings fluff closer to her chest and remains lying on the bowl as I leave at 3:35. When reviewing the AC, he did not fly at 1:55, only flapped his wings rapidly and that is what I saw from the nest cam. He did fly the 2nd time I thought he did.

:1snowman: Ma got up at 3:54 and aerated a little covering her egg eventually, after standing for quite awhile at about 4:15, she seemed to notice something away from the nest toward the right and the back, then to the left and back and calling and then to the right and back again, then she hopped to the rear of the nest at 4:18 and flew out. Pa in at 4:20 and got on the egg. He got up at 4:32 and the egg is visible again and I could hear Ma calling in the distance. I heard her single note calling 4 times and he hopped to the left branch at 4:33. She kept calling and he flew within the minute. Her calling picks up and then I heard alerts in the distance. At the end of the 4:34 minute, Pa arrives to the left branch and eventually hopped down and got over the egg. Up at 4:37 and I could hear Ma in the distance calling. He turned toward the right of the nest and seemed to be watching something, then Ma calls and he turned his head toward the sound of her coming from the left rear. He settles back on the egg at 4:42. He alerts at 5:22, gets off the egg and a minute later, he flew out the back down and up into the woods. Ma in from the front of the nest at 5:32, went to the egg and aerates around it and got over it.

it is windy and wettish so they always make sure the other is available by calling before they leave. Our falcons do this also. hope ma gets lots of breaks
rain forecast for today and tomorrow and Saturday. Drier the rest of the week . winds not too bad. always swaying more toward the top :holwink:

Actually, availability not necessary as Ma arrived and was clearly visible prior to Pa getting off the bowl and alerting. He was alerting for the usual reason they alert.
