:1val: Ma did not spend the night. At 7:38 this morning, Pa to the nest. He picked at the nest floor once, then flew to the left branch within the same minute as his arrival and flew seconds later. At 2:30, Ma arrived to the nest and stepped down into the bowl. She feaked on the nest floor several times and has prey debris on the base of her beak and I assume she has eaten elsewhere just prior to her arrival. She reached over and did a little rail work while she continued to stand in the bowl. She had to throw out her right wing several times to keep her balance. Next she preened, then stood. She settled into the bowl at 3:37. At 4:22 she stood for awhile, then hopped on her good leg to the front of the nest and stood. Ma back to the bowl at 5:24 and settled. She stood again at 6:06, then settled back down in the bowl at 6:47. Ma stood at 6:53 and Pa arrived to the nest and she settled again. He started on rail work, then moved debris out of the bowl getting very near Ma, then aerates. Ma snipped at him twice and reared her head back, Pa continued to stand and looked around, then turned and snipped Ma. :teehee: Then more rail work. Ma adjusted the fluff in front of her chest. Next Pa aerates the bowl with Ma still in it. He crowded her and she snipped on him two more times. :teehee: He reached over her back and nibbled on her wing. :teehee: Then more aeration. Ma stood at 7:04. Pa started removing debris out of the bowl crowding her out of it. Then more rail work, more bowl work. Ma flew out for the day at 7:06. Pa watched her go, more bowl work, more rail work. At 7:14 he pulled on debris about the floor. Next to the bowl to aerate and move debris. He moved a pine cone about the floor eventually tossing it toward the front rails. Then more aeration to the bowl, eventually he decided to settle in it and take a rest at 7:19. At 7:22 he stood and looked around. To the rear rails at 7:48 and he flew out for the day. The nest remains empty as I leave at 12:33 am.

:1val: Ma did not spend the night. Pa arrived to the nest at 7:15 this morning and moved a stray stick to the rails, aerated the bowl, moved out debris, rail work, then stood a bit. Ma arrived to the nest at 7:28. Pa reached in front of her and pulled from the bowl, she reached down to aerate. Then they aerated the bowl together. Ma lifted a stick from the rail and set it back down again. Pa worked on the rear rails. Ma aerated the bowl. At 7:33, Ma stood in the bowl and eventually settled in it, then right back up. Pa to the left branch at 7:34 and flew a couple minutes later. Ma continued to stand in the bowl. Eventually something catches her eye away from the nest and she flew out the rear at 7:53. Pa returned at 8:58 with a stick he eventually places to the rear rails. The mockingbird is back to harass and Pa saw it and turned around and did a wing slap toward it. That took care of that. :teehee: He aerated the bowl, more rail work, stood a bit. To the right branch at 9:08 and flew seconds later. Pa returned a minute later with another stick he placed to the right rails, then adjustments to the rails, stood a bit. Pa flew at 9:13. Ma returned at 11:02 with a stick in her beak that she tried to place to the rear rails, but it went overboard. So she made adjustments to the rear rails instead. Then to the bowl to stand and look around. She spied something away from the nest at 11:35. She watched intensely for several minutes. She relaxed at 12:03. And flew out the rear at 12:21. Pa to the left branch at 5:44 and down to the nest seconds later for bowl work, but sees something in the distance and walks to the front of the nest while watching intensely. Subadult to the left branch at 5:54 and she is the same SA that visited yesterday. Pa fluffed out his feathers and let out soft chirps ... he does not look pleased. The SA is in the "Horaltic Pose". She goes to the nest at 6:15 as Pa cries out. She landed on the left rails and started toward him and he got out of her way and went to the base of the right branch, then hopped over to the left branch with his back to us. She aerated the bowl, then messed with the left rails, then got up on them. At 6:17, she hopped up to the left branch next to and below Pa. He skedaddled! She was in the "Horaltic Pose" again. Then back to the nest bowl at 6:55. To the front rails at 6:58 and flew out the front within the same minute. Pa returned to the nest at 7:17 and the SA arrived within seconds to the left branch. He hopped to the right branch and she went down to the bowl. Pa flew out for the day at 7:18. She went to the rear rails at 7:19 and up to the rear branch on the left at 7:20 with her back to us. She alerted at 10:56 and turned around to face us. She remains there and appears to be asleep as I leave at 12:10 am.

:1val: Ma did not spend the night on the nest. The SA did however spend the night on the tree or nest. Chat reported during the night she went down to the nest from the rear branch at 2:46 am. At 4:22 she moved to the right branch. Then to the nest at 5:26. Coming in this morning on the DVR at 5:37 am, I found her standing on the rear rails/nest area. At 5:58 she turned and came down the rails and off and into the bowl and settles. At 6:34, she stood and aerated the bowl and moved debris, then settled back down into it. She stood at 7:08 and looked around. A minute later she is picking through the right rails and tries to adjust one of the sticks. She feaks about the rails and snips some stems off. She feaked on the right branch at 7:14. She stood awhile, then more feaking. Up to the right branch at 7:31, calls out and alerts, then moved up and can barely see part of her tail and eventually moved out of sight at 7:33. A minute later she is back in partial view, then out of sight again. Back down the right branch and to the nest at 7:35. She moved a pine cone, then walks up the left branch. She has feather fluff in her beak and she feaked on the branch. She flew at 7:44 for the day. Ma to the nest landing in the bowl at 3:37 with Pa arriving seconds later. He moved a pine cone, Ma moved a stick. Then right rail work for Pa, aerated the bowl, moved out debris. Pa to the right branch at 3:53 and flew seconds later. Ma continued to stand on the side of the bowl. Pa returned at 3:57 with a stick and Ma cried out as he flew in because she can see he will land too close to her possibly striking her. He didn't strike her and placed his stick to the left rails, then did some rail work. They stood awhile. Pa to the right rails at 4:05 and hops up to the right branch a minute later and flew. At 5:38, Ma down into the bowl and eventually settles. She stood at 6:22. To the left branch at 6:24 and flew for the day. Pa returned at 6:27 with a stick that he tried out on different places on the rails, finally settling on the right rails. He stood for a bit, then to the left branch at 6:33 and flew seconds later. Pa returned to the nest at 7:13 and down into the bowl and moved a pine cone, then a stick, aerated the bowl, stood a bit, then rail work. He went to the rear rails at 7:19 and flew seconds later for the day. The nest remains empty as I leave at 12:13 am.

:1val: Ma did not spend the night. She arrived to the nest at 9:44 this morning to stand. Pa arrived at 9:49 with a stick and placed on the left rail. Then he aerated around the rim of the bowl. They stood awhile and looked around. Pa to the left branch at 9:53 and flew seconds later for the day. Ma continued to stand and eventually preened some. At 10:49, she sees something afar and leans down to get a better look and holds this position for about a minute, then relaxes some and remained watchful. After awhile she preened. Then once again she seemed to be watching something to the rear, then flew at 11:13 out the rear for the day. Could hear alerts from an eagle in the distance at 5:44, but none are in view. It's raining. The nest remains empty as I leave at 2:00 am.

:1val: Ma did not spend the night. She arrived to the nest at 7:39 this morning and Pa was seconds behind her landing on the left branch, then down to the bowl to aerate. Ma assisted some. Pa then did some right rail work. Ma flew out the rear at 7:42. Pa stopped his work to watch where she went. He stood a bit, then flew out the rear at 7:46. Ma returned to the nest at 1:56 with Pa arriving seconds later. She headed to the bowl to aerate and Pa moved a pine cone, then joined Ma to aerate. Ma stopped work, Pa placed a stray stick to the right rails, then adjusts. Ma preened, then stood. Pa to the bowl to aerate, move out debris, then to the rear rails to work. Pa to the right branch at 2:04 and flew a minute later. Pa returned with a multi-stemmed stick at 2:06. He placed it to numerous places about the rails, Ma tried to assist. He got it hung up on Ma's back feathers, then took it to the left rail and Ma tried to assist with it's placement. He broke it up and left it on the left rails. Next he went to the bowl to move sticks out. Ma flew at 2:08 for the day and Pa watched to see where she went, then stood. To the left branch at 2:19 with his back to us, then flew down toward the left and out and up to the woods in the rear. At 7:01, Pa arrived to the nest with so much momentum he had to run across the nest before he could come to a full stop. He picked up stray sticks to place to the rails, then to the bowl to work. He stood a bit, then to the left branch at 7:05 and flew seconds later. Pa arrived to the nest at 10:17 and was vocal. He stood awhile, then walked across the nest and stood. Up to the right branch at 10:21 and is in partial view. At 11:57 he walks up the branch and out of sight, then he changed positions and becomes partially in view momentarily and then out of sight again. He remains on the right branch as I leave at 1:50 am and can be seen on the approach cam. Only partial view on cam 1.

:1val: Ma did not spend the night, but Pa did. Pa was still on the right branch at 6:39 this morning. He went down to the nest at 6:42 and aerated the bowl. Then he stood on the nest for a long time. At 7:31 he turned and flapped his wings several times. He turned again at 7:32 and flew up to the left branch and alerted 4 times and 1 small chirp, shook out his feathers and flew at 7:36 for the day. Ma to the nest at 1:38 with prey debris at the base of each side of her beak, then to the bowl and feaks on the sides of it, to the front rails and feaks on it and stood for a bit. She hopped to the left side of the nest and feaked on the left rails vigorously for quite awhile. She hopped toward the front of the nest with her back to us and stood for awhile. She hopped to the left rear rails, then up on the rear rails at 2:24 and flew seconds later for the day. Cam 1 went down earlier this evening, but cam 2 and the approach cam are working. The nest remains empty as I leave at 12:50 am.

:1val: Ma did not spend the night. Pa arrived at 10:13 this morning with a multi-stemmed stick that he placed at various places about the rails before settling on the curve of the front and left rails. He snipped some of the stems off. He worked with it quite awhile getting it so-so. After all of that Pa was not satisfied and picked it up and took it to the right rails and snipped more stems off of it, took it to the front rails, then back to the curve of the left and front rails with more snipping, to the left rails with more snips, back to the right rails, to the rear rails with it, back to the right rails with it, rear rails, curve of the rear and right rails with more snipping, then he placed it to the right rails. Finally he walked away from it satisfied with his placement at 10:38!! :teehee: To the left branch at 10:40 and flew seconds later!! At 7:43, Ma and Pa to the nest. Ma aerated the bowl and together they moved a stick out of it. They continued to work together on the bowl. Then Ma stopped and stood, Pa removed more stray sticks, then rail work. Ma flew at 7:52. Pa stopped and stood, then flew at 7:56. Ma to the nest at 5:58, then to the bowl to remove a stick and aerate, then stood. She settled in the bowl at 6:28 and aerated a little. She stood at 7:08 and looked outward from the nest, stood a bit, then to the rear rails and is watchful out the rear, then back to the bowl and more aeration. At 7:11, Pa flew in from the front of the nest and landed on the rear rails. He aerated and moved debris from the floor of the nest, then stood. Next he aerated and removed debris near Ma's bad foot on the floor of the bowl then he raised up brushing against her wing and she reached over and bit his left wing gently. :teehee: He continued to work and she snipped on him. :teehee: Pa to the rear rails at 7:15 and flew for the night. She watched from the bowl to see where he went. Ma stood at 7:17 and back down a minute later to settle in the bowl. At 9:12 Ma stood. She preened some and continued to stand on the nest. At 9:58, she hopped to the bowl and preened her leg feathers. She continues to stand either in the bowl or on the nest the rest of the eve. Ma became watchful out from the nest at 10:40 to all sides except the right. At 10:45, Pa alerts in the distance a total of 7 times and she alerted in response to him initially. Lots of sirens from the HWY. After the sirens stopped, Pa alerted 4 more times at 10:47. Ma remained watchful for a few minutes, then relaxed and preened. She has stood on the nest the remainder of the night and has not slept as she usually does. She is perched on the rear rails and did appear to doze some beginning at 2:44 for a few minutes, but it has started to rain a little and she woke up and preened. Ma remains perched on the rear rails and is dozing off again as I leave at 3:08 am.

:1val: Ma spent the night on the nest in the rain. She went to the left branch at 4:31 this morning and flapped her wings vigorously forty something times to rid the rain water. She went to the nest at 7:08. She flew at 8:26. Ma returned to the nest at 2:30. Pa to the left branch at 2:32, then to the bowl to work, rail work, bowl work, rail work. Ma got her bad talons caught in the rear rails and Pa saw and came over to pull the stick out her talons were caught on, then promptly snipped on her twice. (Because she messed his rails up?) :teehee: Then he did more bowl work, rail work, bowl work. Ma to the right branch at 2:57 and flew. Pa stopped to see where she went. Then stood in the bowl. Ma returned at 3:03 and Pa immediately started work on the bowl, then to the right rails to work. Ma continued to stand. Pa back to the bowl at 3:08 to work, to the rear rails trying to trim, back to the bowl to stand a bit, more rear rail work, then moves a stick to the front rails. Pa to the left branch with his back to us at 3:20. He turned around at 3:22 and flew a minute later. Ma watched to see where he went. At 3:37, she went to the bowl and aerated, then stood. Pa to the nest with a stick at 4:01 and placed to the right rail then to the bowl and watched Ma pulling fluff out of it. Eventually he aerated, then stood as did Ma. At 4:09, he walked in front of her and they almost snipped on each other. Pa to the bowl to work, then stood for a long time. Pa to the left rail at 4:43 and flew for the day as Ma watched from the rear rails, then she preened. Ma turned around on the rear rails and flew for the day at 5:00. At 10:44, Ma and Pa alerts and returns can be heard in the distance. The nest remains empty as I leave at 11:32 pm.

:bat: Found approach cam up at 8:47 this morning and Ma and Pa were on the nest. Pa flew at 8:50 and Ma flew at 8:58. Ma to the nest at 10:12 with Pa circling several times above the tree. Ma flew at 10:55. At about 11:16 cams 1 and 2 are up, but the nest remained empty till 6:45 this evening when Ma arrived and Pa toe tapped the left branch and glided in to the nest seconds after her. Pa got busy moving stray sticks to the left rails and Ma reached over and tried to deal with the sticks bunched up in the curve of the rear and right rails from Zeta. Pa noticed her and tried to assist. Ma snipped one stem off and Pa removed a stick from the heap and placed on the left rails. Ma backed off and Pa got busy and moved out another stick to a rail, then he snipped on it. Ma got back in and snipped off another stem, then wrestled with the pile up of branches. Pa snipped at Ma, then went back in to work on the pile up. :teehee: At 6:52, Ma flew out the rear for the day. Pa continued to snip and work on the pile up. It's a tangled mess. He stood a bit, then worked on the rear rails, stood a bit. He flew out the rear for the day at 6:59. The second stem from the bottom of the main branch in the rear was ripped off by Zeta. At 12:59 you could hear several eagle alerts with one response in the near distance. The nest remains empty as I leave at 1:53 am.

:ghost: Ma did not spend the night on the nest. At 8:14, Pa to the nest this morning with the remains of a bird that he begins to eat right away. Can hear crows nearby. He stops to defeather, then eats more. By 8:49 he is cleaning the floor of bits that fell. He went to the left branch at 8:50 and feaked, then flew a minute later. Ma to the nest at 6:13 this evening and immediately starts picking through the floor of the nest and cleaning up tidbits Pa left behind of his meal. At 6:17, she downs a leg, then possibly the other leg. Next she works on a wing by defeathering and eats what she can. She feaked on the floor of the nest. She stood a bit and flew from the rear rails at 6:31 for the day. Pa to the branch at 6:39 where he perched for a minute and viewed where he had left the prey remains that morning, then down to the nest. He worked on a wing eating and defeathering, then searched and picked at more remnants possibly of the other wing. He stood a bit. To the left branch at 6:53 and flew seconds later for the day. Could hear Ma and Pa alerts and responses in the distance from 1:10-1:11. The nest remains empty as I leave at 1:38 am.
