:7val: Currently, Samson is working in the nest and A2 is watching him from a branch! She joined him at 8:36. After balancing on the rails, Samson moved to a branch at 8:38 and A2 flew a minute later only to return immediately with a stick. They are both in the nest again, working on the placement. By 8:48, she flew and he is on a branch trying to peek between the limbs to see where she went. He flew at 9:03!

:buzzybee: Oh,oh! We may be stuck with the quality we currently see from the 4K cam at times. A couple days ago or so, it was explained that the techs were waiting to adjust the 4K cam, but that the eagles would need to be on the nest for them to do so. I don't know if they will still attempt or if it will make any difference if they try ...

The following shared by mod sharipf_AEF:

For those having issues with the 1st cam in the lineup - the 4k Cam - it was explained to us today that this cam is an exceptionally high quality cam and streams so much data that the internet service at the nest might actually not be powerful enough to handle all the data and stream smoothly. This cam is a cam that the documentary company that was planning on filming at the nest last season left for AEF to use. It is apparently "ahead of its time" as explained to us!

:7val: Samson is currently on a branch. He arrived at 6:20 nest time with a fish to the nest. He just went to the nest at 7:27. A2 arrives a couple minutes later to the nest and Samson goes to a branch. After A2 ate part of a fish on the nest (I think that he left part of the one he ate earlier), she flew to Lookout Point. Couple minutes later, Samson to the nest to move sticks. He flew to Lookout Point to be next to A2 at 7:42. After 5 minutes he returns to the nest after some firm beak pecks from her. They remain in these positions as I leave.

Edit to add: At 8:40 both can be seen on cam 1 ... he is the one on a branch and she is the one at Lookout Point I believe! Here is a screen capture of the fish Samson came in earlier with and ate part of leaving the rest on the nest for her to eat ... and she did when she came in for the night! Screen capture is by mod jd_AEF:

:5val:

And A2 getting her share of the fish from Samson. Screen Capture by Quiet Eagle:

:5val:

Here they are on Lookout Point before she beaked a little too firmly. Screen capture by Toffe678:

:5val:

And another in between the beaks by Rambler:

:5val:

And when he thinks it's too firm, by Robert L:

:5val:

And here he is at about 7:49 returning to the nest from Lookout Point when he had enough beaking from A2, by Pamela Chaney Stallings:

:5val:

This is a video by scylla of their nestoration work this morning squeezed into about 6 minutes:

jd_AEF (Moderator): Looks like a little wind blowin' things around, so A2 moved into the nest. Samson is still on Wallenda branches. 9:11 pm.
Sep 18, 8:29 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): A2 flew from the nest, I believe to a nearby tree...don't see her in the nest tree now. Got a little too windy for her to be comfy.

:sum9: :ohyes: Woo hoo...Samson and A2 were seen mating this morning in the lumbar yard tree and they continue to restore the nest. These two are indeed a bonded pair. How wonderful is that? I hope they can keep this nest going in peace. Talons crossed.

:buzzybee: I'm assuming A2 did not fly off the tree last night as mod reported previous, but to a limb that was out of view from the cam. So, she did spend the whole night on the tree with Samson!

Sep 18, 9:49 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): A2 has moved to Sunset Branch...Winds have calmed a bit.
Sep 19, 3:35 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Good morning Hamlet! As of 4:30 am, Samson and A2 are perched together on the Sunset branch. It still appears quite windy for them.
Sep 19, 3:41 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Samson and A2 will have a partly cloudy day with a chance of showers this afternoon. Winds around 15 mph all day long. Temps upper 70's to low 80's through the day.
Sep 19, 5:55 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): Samson flew at 6:41 am...guess he had enough of these windy conditions
Sep 19, 6:06 AM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Good morning! Samson is back and perched on the Wallenda branches.
Sep 19, 6:20 AM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): A2 moved from the Sunset branch to the nest at 7:14 and she is now perched on Lookout Point.
Sep 19, 6:27 AM
leigh_AEF (Moderator): Off they both go at 7:26.
