Really wondering where Samson is. For awhile we have seen all these females and no males. Now since Samson not seen, already 2 different males, 1 without speckles on head and one with. I was ready to accept A2 if that is who Samson ended up with. But, for now I just can not do without Samson here. Hope he is safe wherever he is!! And GF!! :15heartbeat: :15heartbeat:

SWIN, Sam may very well have given up and found a quiet place with his GF / B2. I am personally not sure ANY eagle was a male Jan. 19th

Nadia - need you! I have a recap to post - all by itself.
You are better to ID those eagles then mods - they have other motivations than accurate recording. I need you to verify - or CORRECT - the recap OK? Please.

'I've got lost who is who.'
We are ALL lost who is who, loza!! :tantrum2:

MpMom on RRP has begun to get pics and I took some.
Yeah I know DVR is REALLY needed. Shoulda had it in December.

One of the eagles I think is female looks more like a 6 year old.
I am thrown by the head of one eagle being speckled - as if he is from another area - a few months less than a 5 year old but more white than a 4 year old.

KEEP US SANE NADIA! LOL! :gaaaaah:

:girlcrazy: Cast
See why I use names? LOL!

Samson, son of Romeo and Juliet
- Havent seen him since Jan 18
Missy (A2) she is REEALLY LOUD!
Fem1 - F1 / A1 the first female Sam came in with (Nadia) LOUD
- did she kill, take hatchling?
GF (B2) We havent seen for days
Jan 18-19 overnite Interloper male - maybe - uncertain

Fem1 talon injuries and was very loud. Wish she'd leave

-----------------------

Nadia - your reply to me a couple days ago
Missy is A2
AEF was referring to F1 the 1st female that Samson came in with.
F1 ended up with talon injuries and was very loud.
A3 I have no idea who that is. AEF has been using multiple names for the same bird

-----------------------

CRAZY! day January 19 brief recap
6.45 am Dawn and the song is sung by one lone whoisit eagle - Fem1
7 am Whoever screamin like a banshee at another eagle messin in the nest
3.30 pm 2 eagles - 1 screaming

3:34 mod said Visitor Male - but I think it was a female - Fem1
Thought A2 (?Missy?) was going to blow out the microphone. Yikes.
Jan 19 afternoon I saw BOTTOM of foot - it looked pretty wounded

No one home
January 20, 2019 Sonday rain
6.45 am AMAZING! Eagle just landed in nest, so we didnt miss the Dawn Song!
AEF calls it a very wet male. It flew right off again - it sang just for me!
I hear it chuckling in the distance

7.15 am 2 Eagles vocals, one drops in nest
I actually grabbed pic before it left!

8.08 am Same eagle as 7.15 arrives
8.15 There are 2 eagles here - one nest, one branch - quiet
One of these is Missy/A2, a beautiful but LOUD female,
the other is a male with specks on his head so I'll call him Specks

The word must have gone out thru all of Eagledom - -
LUXURY PENTHOUSE FOR RENT - FURNISHED

LOTS of pics posted on RRP this mornings eagles
I dont trust AEF mods to know if M or F or who
They keep their viewers in mind primarily so post for them

Shep, the eagle at the nest early yesterday morning around 1030am could be male or female. I too am leaning toward female and I agree, the bird looks older than 5 yrs old. The most recent pics posted by Loza were at about 230pm yesterday and are of the new male that was also seen at the nest with A2 yesterday morning between 1130 to 12 noon. The latest pics by Ferenz are indeed A2.

I'm with Swinwk...as long as Samson was around, I felt better about the losses here. There was hope that a part of Romeo and Juliet might continue here. Samson was clearly in some scrapes. On two different occasions, he returned to the nest with beak wounds. I just hope he is OK. I have a feeling there are many males and females around and much is happening away from the nest that we cannot see. There is a video from Jan 14th that does not look like Samson to me (very dark tail) and that particular young male was also in the nest tree with A2. Too many eagles.

I cannot watch the cam today. I am hoping for some peace, but worried about Berry College...they are also getting intruders.

11.15 am Specks flies in with Missy/A2
Missy is screaming
Specks chuckles, he came with her but looks afraid of her

They have arrived and left together but I have not witnessed mating.
I find myself thinking of the black widow spider who eats the male after mating.
Come on, you smiled .. and I said it without using b***h
Why am I thinking of the 'Raymond' TV show?

:taz: I HOPE THIS PAIR DOESNT END UP HERE!

just a bit ago (2:58pm)
female came in and vocal. I switched to cam 3 and another eagle flew quickly from tree and there was diving, and lots of flying overhead and around. Female remained in nest.
female just left.

I personally do not care who gets this site, as long as it calms down.
It appears at moment it is males right now , that are vying. But that could change at any moment. :girlcrazy: these appear to be all younger eagles, 5 years old or maybe 6 years old, so it may take awhile to secure site. This is common when both resident eagles are gone.

may not settle down this season. bu tlets hope so.

female and male in nest and mal e is not the one she did not want this morning. this is wither Samson or the one that came after with all speckles. hard to see as windy and he is wet

I have cam focused on tree right now but watching the closeups. they will know better than me as I have not been watching all the time. sh e seems comfortable anyhow.

when they came to nest vocal an eagle flew overhead.

Samson could have moved on with other female . it is a ll a guessing game at this point :girlcrazy: the other eagle in thi s moring was almost the size of female if not th e same size

this is the male with all the speckles. they are watching skies closely. may be able to post a few photos later. they are gorgeous

they are both vocal at 4:09pm bu t I see noth9ing on cam 3 . But they are cautious. both still in nest .

they left nest together, bu without vocals

here are my pciutres.

I will no t second guess mods. they are doing what they can to identify. my heart is with them this year as I know, from experience< when you watch so closely , for so many years, especially from the ground, it is numbing. But they are really trying to ID them as they can. any one of these could be descendants of Romeo and Juliet. They are really trying to ID and compare pciutres. but I do feel the on e in this morning was another female and that is why thi s female was so upset. I looked back on their video several times

male( I do believe the on e that came in after Samson)he was very wet

well I may have a few more shots. forgot to put record on this time LOl so If i find anymore from this evening I will come back an d post. but I will only check here occasionally now. would be nice if A2 stayed.

I just t took the afternoon to watch and try and keep track. I know I saw 4 different eagles today.
at times when two were in nest saw another in air. Ground crew would have had quite the display today.

the constant today was the one called A2( female with injured talons, well just marked now). the male most of afternoon , I had seen before, spotted head. She was comfortable with him . The one this morning, I believe was another female . The new one that came tonight, had an all white head and was not welcomed by A2. They have both left(6:44pm) . the white headed one went first.
A2 did ly in nest for awhile before she left, the other stayed on branch. ( white headed eagle was in nest for a bit and A2 went to branch. and then A2 took over nest. )

still hear calling off nest(6:51pm). at least 2

so just sit back and watch. At some point there will be 2 or maybe not till next season.

this is all just my opinions today, right or wrong. :girlcrazy: it is a throw of the dice . I will be concentrating on my other eagles now. happy watching.

Thanks Bev. Ground crew reported 3 eagles at sundown. A2 started out with the young speckled male. Both on high alert, defending the nest together. They were in and out due to the 3rd eagle. The young male would leave in haste and A2 would follow. After significant vocals off-cam, a new male appeared in the nest. He is older. Full white head and tail with no talon injuries, but a small dark spot on his L beak....a wound? A2 returned to the nest. The speckled male did not return. The older male was in the nest tree while A2 went into the nest. She was not happy with him at first, but seemed to get comfortable and started to doze off. However, when he hopped into the nest, she got upset, vocalizing. He perched again in the tree on alert and eventually flew with A2 following. Vocals heard in the distance. Nobody in the nest tree at the moment. So, now we have another male that is older and he is a handsome guy.

529pm - The Speckled male (left) and A2 on high alert. The male flew and was followed by A2.
Image

543pm - The speckled male (right) and A2 return to the nest. Both on alert. Once again, the male took off in haste and A2 followed him.
Image

555pm - A2 returns to nest and hops up to perch in the nest tree.
Image

600m - A mature male lands in the nest. A2 was vocalizing and was not happy.
Image

601pm - The mature male. Quite a handsome guy. Possible beak wound. Some people on chat thought this was Romeo, but the mods say no. He does resemble Romeo. Maybe an offspring of theirs from 2012?
Image

618pm - Male perches in nest tree while A2 comes down into the nest.
Image

622pm - The male.
Image

624m - A look at his talons.
Image

628pm - The male joins A2 in the nest, but she is not happy about it.
Image

636pm - A2 laying in the nest. Male perched in tree.

your pictures will be great Nadia.

I just happened to be at computer for this .

we cannot see an eagle but one is below nest on cam3. it was vocalizing

7:46pm

this was male that came in later this evening
Image

here is eagle below nest at 7:51pm

Image

edit to add one cam e to nest , I believe A2. sh e i s now on branch and one still below nest. thi s makes sense now as I often hear someone in tree but cannot see.

Mods say there are 2 in the nest tree now. One is A2. Not sure which male is with her.
