Samson continues to defend his nest from red shouldered hawks, vultures, osprey and what ever else is showing up and A2 still not seen for awhile here. And the cams are down again.

jd_AEF (Moderator): Gretchen has checked on the power and there is still no power at the electrical box in the Hamlet. It is apparent that an electrician will be needed, which will likely happen after the holiday. We will do our best to keep you updated on activity seen from the ground and any updates on the power issue.

Cams 2 and 3 do work even though it says offline. Although 3 has a blackened screen at this time. Report below:

May 29, 5:33 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): Cams 2&3 are LIVE (click a view)! Audio isn't operable at this time. We hope to have the leaves trimmed tomorrow on Cam 3 interfering with the view! Thanks much for your patience!

From last PM on where Samson is staying now:

Jun 11, 8:12 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): TUESDAY TUCK: It was again a "no show" today at the nest and the LY, but that's ok. It's quite certain the eagle seen off-site near the ocean is Samson. The eagle appears small and perches on the same tree on a regular basis. It's Florida. It's hot. He likely prefers an ocean breeze and an ocean view in the off-season! SED Y'all

I am a little perplexed as I am not convinced this is Samson, but am going to post because it is from JD the mod:

Jun 18, 5:06 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 6 am sharp - Samson arrives in the nest Welcome back Samson!
Jun 18, 5:11 AM
jd_AEF (Moderator): He checks out his nest, moves some sticks around, and flies off again at 6:10 am

Samson did have some visits early in July to the nest and nest tree, but has only been seen once in one of the trees away from the nest in the weeks since and that's been awhile ago. Can hardly wait for the new season to begin here!

:buzzybee: I've checked through out the summer, but have not seen any more updates on Samson. A2 has been gone even longer than him. The cams are currently down, but here are a couple photos from yesterday morning of the crew doing the annual maintenance on the cams, which means we are closer now to the new season.

:buzzybee: Am seeing elsewhere they are installing new cam/cams with additional view/views here, but unable to run this down to determine if we will have 4 or 5 cam views for the new season. Saw they are adding 2 new cams, but I am thinking 1 may be a replacement and 1 will be new view, so it will be 4 views now instead of 3, but will have to find out for sure.

I received this update from HD OnTap! :flirty:

"Samson, Romeo and Juliets offspring in 2013, visited the nest earlier this morning. Samson has been spotted nearby several times since Romeo and Juliet left the nest in December 2018. Still no sign of the resident couple, but there is still plenty of time for them to return before nesting season begins."

Thanks for bringing the update with the captures of Samson, gigi! This morning, I couldn't understand why the mod only shared a capture of his toe, but not of him! :teehee:

Edit to add:
OMG, Samson is sleeping in the tree tonight!!! I just saw him!! :flirty:

gretchen_AEF (Admin): Chat has concluded and will resume Oct 1. Samson was the first of the family to return to the nest on August 26. At this time please enjoy the 3 cams live on HDonTap.. We will stream on this page soon with 4 cams. The default cam you first see is our 4K cam. It is a FIXED cam and can only slightly zoom. It is the only cam view with audio at this time. Enjoy the show as we join together hoping for a successful season and praying for Romeo and Juliet's return. We are "NEFL STRONG!" Pls check the banner

Edit to add: Samson is still here and asleep on the branch. He can be seen on cams 2 and 3.
