aka_AEF (Moderator): Good Thursday afternoon awesome eagle family! What a beautiful day it is here in the Hamlet.
We had what appeared to be a juvenile red tail hawk visit on the Wallenda Branches only briefly,

now another visitor is laying in the nest at 1:12.

This visiting eagle appears quite comfortable and is still enjoying laying in the nest at 1:44.

At 2:55 the visiting eagle is still in the nest, only getting up to change positions!

Oh, oh! I saw a larger bird flying in the distance, hoping it was not Samson or Gabby ...

Unfortunately, it was and possibly both Samson and Gabby. It went very quick. While I was posting above I could hear the smack down! Went back in and on DVR it looked as if Samson may have come from above left and the injured eagle was aware of his coming in as he was standing before he flew up toward him, then maybe Gabby comes in from rear of nest and lands after. This is not definite by any means. I am having great difficulties going back on DVR in general and with freezing. Will try other cams than the 4K to review what actually happened. Maybe mods have reported on by now.

Gabby and Samson are together on the tree and have been alerting. Chat is on now and here is only comment from mod I could find that maybe I did see both of them. Will try other cams now.

Okay, I think I was right. Watch cam 1 beginning at 5:48. The IR is already on for this cam where it was not for the 4K. I think the eagle that goes for the injured one and lands on the nest 1st is Samson and the eagle that comes from the rear and lands after Samson is leaving is Gabby. I thought I saw the markings on the side of Gabby's face on the 4K that still had color, when I originally viewed this. I'm sure a video of the event will show up sooner or later.

Took an excerpt from Lady Hawk's description of the event earlier. The time was actually 5:48 PM not 4:48 PM.

"At 4:48 PM Samson comes flying in first and the visitor takes off immediately. Samson gives chase and Gabrielle flies in to the nest briefly before flying off. Samson will return again to the nest and then fly off a couple minutes later."

And this from Gretchen:

Nov 7, 7:31 PM
gretchen_AEF (Admin): THURSDAY TUCK-IN: After viewing the visitor laying in the nest this afternoon from approx 1pm-6pm, Samson and Gabrielle finally flew in and out she went. They both guarded the nest territory at the LY, but soon returned and are roosting at the nest tonight. Whew! It was getting tense. We all hope the visitor has found her way, as she appears to have an injured foot or leg. She was a large eagle (hence we assumed female), but she is a survivor and had a nice rest in the Hamlet nest. SED her and all!

:girlsad3: I tried to look in to see if both still here, but am unable to get any of the cams to come in on the NEFL page or HDON. I keep getting the COD. Frequently, I am unable to follow these cams d/t freezing, COD, inability to get cams to go to the live shot as frequently when I come in the cams are elsewhere on the DVR. It is very frustrating and was hoping this would clear up before the eggs come, but it is not looking good for me. I refresh, clear the cache, etc. and try to follow all their tips, but it does not work.

gretchen_AEF (Admin): FRIDAY TUCK-IN: Samson and Gabrielle flew from the nest in the LY direction and sure enough, they were there when we got there. I'm sure they haven't moved as it's a blistery night in the Hamlet.

:leafrock: Samson has arrived on the nest with his fish to eat!

jd_AEF (Moderator): We are having technical difficulties with cams and audio cutting in and out today, likely due to weather conditions. Technicians have been notified and we hope it will correct soon. Thanks for your patience.

:leafwave: A different SA than the one that was there 2 days ago is currently on the nest and Samson is allowing it to stay for now! Samson flew off leaving the SA on the nest at 11:35 having been there for almost 30 minutes while SA flew in and looked for food on the nest. It's a very windy day at the nest, but the sun is out. Don't know how Gabby will feel about the situation, if she flies in. It flew at 12:34 using the 4K cam! A beautiful bird, I love how they look at this stage!!

:7val: Samson and Gabby are spending the night here!! They have been here since 5:38 per mod and did some nestorations before retiring early tonight. :teehee:

gretchen_AEF (Admin): SATURDAY TUCK-IN: We sure have had some visitors at the nest lately! Thank goodness it's been peaceful. That's what we hope for is peace in the Hamlet. We arrived to tuck tonight about 5:15pm and both Samson and Gabrielle were perched at the nest. They haven't made many moves or vocals since. It was a very windy day, and perhaps they are enjoying a peaceful night as the wind has died down. Guess they are staying put! SED Samson and Gabrielle and to all

:1val: Samson is currently on the tree. Nestorations were in progress earlier this morning with fluff being brought in by Samson and a stick by Gabby per mods. It looks breezy, but a beautiful, sunny, day for them!
