It was just reported that she landed in the nest tree, down below the nest itself. She's not going to make herself a target for those owls!

:loveheart2: I believe it is as you can see the white border that runs across the top of his folded wings that is always a good ID'er for him.

Both have great crops. E22 crop was big earlier on. These two make me nervous when they go on the rim of the nest.

M15 was knocked to lower branch last night, during owl attack. M15 was ok but he then lowered to nest by E21 to protect the E’s.

I was wondering if there would be another attack , after I saw pictures of the 3 young owls. They will soon be flying.
Will try to post more photos this weekend. They are growing so fast and M15 is doing great job. They make me nervous as they perch on nest rim , when it is windy.

What I wonder if whether the owls' attack will by multiplying 5 owls leaving the owl nest and terrorizeing the eagles. The peregrine falcons' chicks start out by catching things that are much smaller than themselves. I don't know if is the same for owls. In other words, I don't know whether the E's are in less danger by the juvenile owls leaving the nest. :girlcrazy:

:loveheart: Catwoman, the threat always seems to be from the adult GHO's here. The good news is once the owlets have fledged and are able to keep up, their parents will take them farther afield and we will not see them as we are now.

what a wild couple of days, with intruders but there have been a few which M15 has dealt with. We seem to have another female .
she is high up in tree siting on right side as you look at cam 3.she blends in with the branch
I am not sure it is not the other female. there are varying opinions but the main thing is, she is not bothering th e kids. M15 can feed without interference.
I can copy what mods are saying but it really does not matter. the main thing the Es are thriving and not as pushy and M15 is doing a fabulous job. :loveheart: :loveheart:

M15 struck from attic from owl strike. Went on E22 but they kept sleeping. M15 ok
The owl will be protecting their young who have moved away from their nest tree.
Our eaglets are not at risk. It is peregrines chicks that would be at risk at this stage, The great horned owl are peregrines worst predator. That is GSR bluff ones are always at risk( adult and young peregrines)
Anyhow new female has not bothered the E’s

This afternoon, M15 was headed to nest with intruder on his tail. They collided and went to the ground. M15 relinquished the fish to intruder and it carried it to another tree. M15 is ok. M15 landed first and then intruder. M15 flew to snag tree and intruder eagle flew off to another tree with fish
Luckily the two E’s had a few previous feeds. One more would have been great. Someone said it was the subadult but I will have to look back. (cant tell who intruder was. )
One thing, the intruders have not interfered with the E’s which I hope continues.
Remaining positive and n
Hoping for best outcome

there was another owl strike early morning. the owlets are out of nest tree but have not moved very far so this could continue till they are further away( we must remember, they are just protecting their young) M15 is O.k.
there was only 2 small morsels today( but the young ones had crop drops as they were well fed yesterday)
M15 had a nice crop , which was good to see.
rest well M15 and young ones. Tomorrow is a new day.

Yesterday ended up with 1 more fish(4)

Just before midnight, another owl strike. M15 tried to hol on but ended up flying off and back.
Then after midnight, there was a car crash not far away and the noise and commotion, caused M15 and intruder (who was way up top ) fly off.
M15 came backK around 7am

Today M15 brought in a squirrel early. As much as they all tried to hod on, intruder swooped in for a quick steEl . M15 let it go , so there would not be a tussle. First time it did this. Must have been hungry.
But a few fish and a rabbit later the E,S are stuffed :15heartbeat:

I will be back to add to this report as there was a subadult on tree and a female with battered feet flew in also. When M15 flew in with another fish, female intruder tries to steal ( story still unfolding so I will be back) but M feeding E22 and not giving it up this time. She did jump on E21.
Edit to finish.
M15 feeds E22. Intruder female jumps on E21’s back a few times. I think she was just trying to get her to move so she could get closer to E22 and get bites. She lifted E21’s tail and she thought a morsel under. Then she moved around back of E22 and stole a wee piece. After a bit she flew back up to branch and watched. When M15 had fed E22 most of fish( with some for himself), he flew to tree. A small morsel was left and she went in and quickly stole it and flew off.
So no harm done. E21 was smart and just lay there.
I kind of feel for this female. She could have created a lot of havoc, but mostly watched from branch. Her feet are all torn, as if in fight but not the original R . I think she was around the other day.
M15 is patient and smart.
So all is well , so far. E21 is up and moving around so OK.
What an education we are getting.
I will do a small video tonight with a few pictures. Time is limited

Just after 10 pm last night M15 was attacked again by owl. He landed on branch but stepped into nest( briefly on E21) . All are fine. I think the owlets are on the move.
Another eagle flew to top of tree after midnight.
M15 reminds me so much of our loved Pa at deMortel , in 2007, when S2 came on scene. She stole prey meant for young but he found ways to distract her so he could feed his young.
This is what M15 is doing. He does not want confrontation around nest with young so close to branching.
I really felt for intruder female, yesterday.

Sorry I did not get photos but may have a few minutes tonight.
:15heartbeat: :sham3:
