When I left both were on the nest as the parent had just bought food in and E13 was mantling and E12 was walking away. I am still going to call her a she as she does look bigger than E13.

Loza, it looked as if the smaller of the 2 fledged ... don't know if Mod got wrong one fledging or if the 1 that fledged looked smaller just because it was further away from us ....

:14val: The one that fledged sure had that lean, muscular, look and I have viewed the video again, and I am still wondering if E13 is the one that fledged ...

The mod notice has not changed:

:12val: I thought when I saw the above ... I've never known a fledge here to fly to the pond and land ... but, decided I'd said enough ... now they have changed that ...

:girlsad3: E13 was struck by an owl tonight! Showing some signs he is okay, read report below. They make a correction on time of event in 2nd post.

Mar 12, 9:31 PM
samour17 (Admin): As we are sure many already know E13 was hit by an Owl while perched on the attic branch. The time frame on the DVR is 22:19:58. He fell a short distance to a branch just to the left of the nest. We have been monitoring E13 and he has been flapping his wings and looking around so he appears to be okay. He is currently still on the branch just under the nest and to the left. Of course we will not know anything else until daylight and will share any new information with you as we get it.
Mar 12, 9:34 PM

samour17 (Admin): I have a correction. E13 was hit at 21:03:31. Sorry for the misprint.
SMar 12, 9:38 PM

samour17 (Admin): For those who would like to see E13 you can see him on cam 2 and also the 360. You will have to watch for him to flap his wings as he blends in with the branch.

6:45am still quiet in the pasture. E13 has moved a little bit. E13 is in a crotch with the big limb coming out one side and a smaller broken limb coming out from the big limb.

Read elsewhere Wskrsnwings has him within sight.

:2val:1852: E12 fell from the attic and kinda hung upside down from a branch near the nest, before she tumbled further down to or near the area E13 spent the night last night after falling when the owl got him. Harriet apparently witnessed this as she arrived to the nest while E12 was still hanging. Of course E13 came down from the attic and looked over the edge @ his big sister. She is okay as far as I know and made it back after about 40 minutes or more. Someone on chat thought she wasn't handling a foot or leg quite right, but I'm sure she will be watched closely. I thought she did pretty good when I saw her on a branch right after, but I have not watched her walking on the nest.
