found on YT beautiful :7val:

SWFL Eagles ~ Harriet Gives M15 The Foot! Bonding & Roosting Together ~ Beautiful Close-ups! 1.18.20

Harriet and M15 continue to keep their love and bond strong after losing E14. M arrives to the attic at dusk and has a full crop. He watches Harriet moving nesting material around and drops down to join her on the nest. They return to the attic & Harriet makes her way close to M with mating vocals - indicating her desire to bond at 5:41. Afterwards, Harriet will fly to the upper attic branch before coming back down at 9:19 to present her foot to M. lol It is nice to see Harriet back to normal behavior again showing dominance to ensure that their bond with remain strong so that they will have babies next season. Thank you for watching!

:1snowman: Both eventually came to the nest this morning with many sticks per mod:

"Harriet brought 2 sticks and M brought 4 sticks to the nest. 8:46a M flew west. 9:06am H flies off the nest west, circles around east toward the river, out of sight."

But, nobody has returned home by noon.

:rudolf: Was a little surprised to see this come across FB just now:

Southwest Florida Eagle Cam

With H & M continuing to rebuild and bring sticks to the nest, the question on everyone’s mind is the possibility of a re-clutch this season.

Harriet and M15 have resumed more frequent bonding & observed on the nest tree and surrounding areas more often than normal.

While the chances are small, Eagles can go in and out of fertility a couple of times during the season with the right prompters - daylight and behavioral information, which is how replacement clutches are possible.

Only time will tell what the future holds for our favorite couple.

I know I was not going to comment anymore but I did make a remark after loss of wee one that I never give up. I say this as I monitored closely for Arizona last year and they had a second clutch after losing eggs almost three weeks later. no one thought it was possible as they thought her cycle was over but I watched and watched them come in and rebuild and voila.

so in nature, we continue to learn. I have made this remark before, but our biologist have taught us well at our sites , and he says, just when we think we have it all figured out , it changes.

so we will wait and see.
isn't nature fascinating :flirty:

SWFL Eagles ~ Harriet & M15 ~ Stick Wars & Discussions! Working HARD On The Nest! 1.22.20

Image

Image

Harriet and M have been working hard on the nest today and spending more time in the nest tree and bonding more than they usually do. The changes to their normal routine have been impacted early in the season with losing E14 and not having the responsibilities of raising and providing for their chick. It makes sense for H & M to pick up nestorations once again and keep busy.

They brought in 9 sticks today and had some funny stick discussions along the way! Harriet is seen flying off to the west pasture at 7:56 and returns with a stick and M will fly off towards the dead fig tree trying to grab a stick at 12:50, misses it but heads toward the pond and returns with a huge branch. He trips over it trying to place it lol They work as a team and solidify their bond keeping their relationship strong. Thank you for watching.

:1snowman: They did not spend the night, but the did arrive early to the tree this morning. On the DVR, I found M15 to the outer attic at 5:31 and Harriet to the attic at 5:39 to start their day! Later the mod reports they went to the nest and then back to the attic with mating.
