What a crazy and unpredictable year this has been for Harriet and M15.
The 2020 - 2021 season may hold some interesting moments too if E15 sticks around and is not chased away by her parents. About 10 years ago there was a peregrine nest in Rome where one of the youngsters stayed an extra year and was a "mother's helper" bringing in prey for her siblings.

:eggthumb: I wonder how it's going to play out too, gigi. There have been so many records broken and firsts here this season that has actually run into the next season. Harriet is already competing some for food with E15 when M15 brings it to the nest. Last week he brought in a rabbit and E15 made it to the nest to claim with Harriet arriving to one of the branches maybe 2-3 seconds later screaming away! Next day he brought in a bird that Harriet arrived and took right away and as she prepped it on the nest, I noticed her stopping to look up a couple times to see if, I felt, E15 was coming in. Sure enough, seconds later E15 comes screaming in and Harriet snatched up the bird before she got there and flew away with it to eat. I had thought food would be a factor in Harriet running off E15, but will have to see. Next month Harriet should lay eggs and M15 needs to bring food gifts to show her what a good provider he is as part of their bond renewal. If E15 takes these gifts meant for her ... Harriet doesn't strike me as one to let "the tail go with the hide"! :teehee: But, she's allowed her to stay up to this point, so ...

Edit to add: I just found this at midnight on FB. Nooooo, say it ain't so, not 2 nests!!

:1val: E15 is on the tree in the same spot she was last night. Mod report:

On the nest:None
7:45p Night falls on a rainy windy day. Harriet and M are roosting in the front pine, E15 on the outer branch inside ext. Food Today: Fish/Partial Fish-1. Sleep safely Eagle Family.
