:nervous: Well the reason I found M15 back home above is because Harriet was attacked on the nest by a GHO at 22:02 and was drug across it to the rails which she grabbed with her talons. Harriet had also raked across E18's wing as she was drug across the nest, but all appear to be okay. M15 heard her alerts and had been in the west pasture and came flying in to the nest tree, although it took him a little bit to get there. He then went down to the nest and stayed for awhile and they alerted. Right now both are on the attic and I can hear one of them alerting at intervals as I post this even though we are well past the event. Don't know if they are seeing something in the distance. :15heartbeat: M15 was knocked off the attic by a GHO at 21:44. He was able to fly off, but has not returned to the tree that I can tell. It took Harriet who was on the veranda a bit to alert. Then in the 21:46 minute you can see a bird flying downward just before the snag and you can see a bird flying in the 21:47 minute that Harriet does alert to. Video by Lady Hawk:

I guess we forget, that the owl is trying to protect its young also. Hate to see our eagles at so many sites getting attacked by owls but They are only doing what we expect our eagles to. Those young owls are darn cute. So happy both eaglets doing well here :7val:

Oh goodness, bev. I hope it's not me you think is forgetting. What a coincidence, I just posted this last evening at another venue:

Mar 12, 8:42 PM
: It's a neat video with the wingercising, branching, eating by the 2 owlets. Wonder if that was Dad who brought in breakfast for the one? Don't want anything to happen to the eagles. But with the 2 nests this close, it's no wonder we have seen what we have seen here with the attacks. Hoping both families make it through this.
Mar 12, 8:45 PM
: And this took place about 2-3 hours before the attack on M15 last evening. Both families just trying to raise their babes.

not at all SWINk. I have been so busy, and knew this had happened so just put my thought in, , as this has been been happening at Hays also, and a few other places. .

:nervous: Another owl attack, this time on Harriet while she was on the attic at 23:22, but she was able to maintain her position. I went back to last night's post to see what time I had posted that E17 was standing up on the nest as I was concerned at that time E17 might be a target for the GHO. But my last 2 posts were not there. It seems I had posted them on Fridays' posts inadvertently, so I went back and made the corrections. What I did not realize at the time was an attack had already taken place on Harriet 5 minutes before. It's looking as if it is a matter of time before the one of the GHO's nesting in the west pasture may strike one of the E's, especially as they start to stand as they sleep. Video of the attack by Lady Hawk:
