Well it seems that Dr. Sharpe has begun to bait an area to see if Wray will come in, if so them he will try and trap her to get a look at her leg/foot.
Ravens and they think a Hawk have been around but so far nothing from Wray. Dr Sharpe is going to do this til mid week, he is leaving Northern Calif. and won't be back til the following friday. So everyone is hoping things work out and he can get her before he leaves.

wondering if any news on Wray.

From IWS regarding Channel Islands California Eagles K-93 and K-14

"Good Afternoon Eagle Watchers,

I do not have good news for this update.

Unfortunately, K-93 is going to be euthanized today. His blood flow did not come back to his foot which means that his foot is now necrotic. Based on our permits with the USFWS to work with Bald Eagles, we “…must euthanize any bird that has sustained injuries requiring amputation of a leg, a foot, or a wing…”, we “must not sustain the life any migratory bird that cannot after medical management feed itself, perch upright, or ambulate without inflicting additional injuries to itself.”

This is hard on all of us. K-93 was a great bird to watch in the field, always protecting his nesting territory. HartSpin2.gif He was hatched in 1998 to a breeding pair at the San Francisco Zoo and was released at the Bullrush Hacktower (right by his nest). He successfully fledged 2 chicks, K-98 in 2010 and K-30 “Blaze” in 2013.

More sad news. K-14 “Shay Awahili” has also passed. We were just notified by the Bird Banding Lab (they have all of our eagles on file by federal ID) that K-14’s body was found on Laguna Beach on September 7th. Cause of death is unknown. However, given his location, I would suspect drowning."
