I'll give a bit of background information:

The Berry College Eagle Cam ... home of Henry & Martha!

This is the only live, streaming video camera of a bald eagle nest in Georgia. Both of the cams are accessible from the main page which contains two buttons--one for each cam.

A little important info. that you can read more about from the cam page:

The female currently exhibits signs of trauma to her feet with missing talons on her right foot but sporting a more severe injury to her left foot. She is able to hunt and fly successfully with her mate as well as prepare the nest for eggs.

The eagles were named Henry and Martha after Berry's founder Martha Berry and Berry College contributor Henry Ford. The eagles have set up a massive nest just behind the school's athletic center. This is the first documented nest in the modern history of Floyd County, Georgia.

During the summer of 2013, college staff relocated the “approach” video camera to a pole closer to the nest and, with the help of a Georgia Power crew, mounted a “nest cam” in a branch near the eagles’ nest.

We've just gotten started on this nest over on the WOW forum but Sherri did some digging today information so we could work on a better comparison between the two. She and Doralyn did a super job and it's really pretty easy to tell them apart. Dad is much smaller than Mom and his long tail is very noticeable.

Dad has:
-long sleek stalky legs
-a sleeker head
-a more trim body
-a sleeker down-curving to a point beak
-an inverted V neckline with some long feathers
-a very long tail, oval end
-a crossed set of primaries over the tail (like MN Dad)

Mom has:
-stockier legs subsumed in fluffy feathers
-a rounder and bigger head, with an imposing forehead of fluff
-a large heavily feathered body
-a straight-out, thicker, blunter beak
-a rounder, densely fluffy neckline all the way around
-a black spot on the upper part of her white tail, when visible

(I've been secretly calling them Martha and Henry since the start!! When I was in school there, we all "created" this romantic, secretive relationship between Henry and Martha...just for the record, nada...LOL)

From 11/12...Henry first...

He left, and then Martha arrived. She was there for a few and he joined her (she was really limping yesterday, but seemed to be handling it very well). I waited, trying to get a good look at her feet, but no luck.

I don't know why I have so many pics of this arrangement. I think I was supposed to pick the best one..now I can't remember..hee hee..

I'm still trying to see her feet..no luck..no obvious limping during my brief watch..

That was a good shot of her feet SGB. I can't really see what's wrong with it though.

They were back this afternoon ... Martha brought in another stick.

Henry doin the wiggle wiggle..

I think they had said that Martha lost of couple of her talons. Looking here it does seem that there are tiny talons growing back in on her middle and left talon.... ?

Wow..that's a great pic of her foot, Patti...Her left foot has been the one causing all the limping...though, I didn't notice limping this morning. She also cannot (or could not) ball up that left foot into an eagle "fist"...not sure how she's doing with that now...

Earlier today. They were so funny. They both wanted to work on the nest bowl at the same time. Martha would move something and Henry would move it back, etc...
