Dale had egg three yesterday. I was reading how many eggs a BO may have. They have been know to have up to 15 if the female is well fed. I think we can look forward to a good size clutch.

And here's a tip for all obsessive watchers, the IT department at your workplace will actually inform you that whatever you are streaming is sucking up space and slowing down the rest of the company!! :hmmmm I hope they locate that person soon. :redface

Thanks for the screencaps Cheryl. Thanks for vid, skygirlblue.

Well SKB I think she is done.

I do have a question? Is she pulling out her feathers or is this a natural process?

Matrix? Do you have any insight?

Mel and Syd....I need to go read because I don't know if this is the old Syd or a new female...All I know is she finally made it into the box and mel is not freaking out with joy!!!! I hope this means he has finally won her over!!!

The last few days he has brought "love gifts" and left them in the box...only to cave into temptation and eat them himself!!!

It's good to see this since she stayed away so long after the leg injury. Hopefully all is well. :cold:

Can someone with some expertise comment on the feather loss? Is she pulling them out or is this a natural process?

Also is that a pack of Marlboros, cause if she lays another egg today she's going to need them. :teehee:

Thought there would be eggs here by now. The site is reporting that a pair of GH are nesting 25 feet away and the female is sitting on eggs.

Cheryl...not sure about the feathers, but I've seen it before...I think its a natural process...its a little too soon for her to start molting (I think)...but, since molting is such a gradual process, who knows...

I read that on the Starr Ranch Blog today...what a shock...Last year at the Eagle Crest nest site, a Canadian Goose took over the Hawk nest...right under that nest, sat the GHO nest...As far as I know, the GHO never got any of the goslings...Nature is amazing!!! (of course, if you've ever been around angry Canadian geese, not sure I would mess with them either!!!)

thanks for the heads up, KF, about the Washington nest...believe it or not, they have been there for about a month now...what a shock...when they first arrived, the abandoned egg was still in the box..it created a little confusion at first!!!

EagleCrest Barn Owls have there first egg this is from their FB page

The Link to view the EagleCrest Cams is here:

OUR FIRST EGG of the season was laid by our female Barn Owl (Mrs. Barney) at 8:45 AM today, February 19th. The egg was clearly visible right inside the tree nest as it was laid; and she later rolled it several times with her foot. Video links are available in our forum. More eggs will likely follow soon. The Barn Owl nest is clearly visible 24/7 with our Camera 7 which has IR night vision and audio.
Video capture by 989razzle of the first egg:
