#4 made it back up..He landed on the right perch, hopped down, found some food and is now playing with its food...LOL

Sure wish I had the band numbers/colors...we might could figure out who our flyer is...

Anyway, #4 didn't stay long..

Sally, it was an accident!! Got knocked off the perch by a sibling...Dixie responded quickly!! I hope it found its wings and landed somewhere safely. I alerted the watchers at Peregrine Place because they thought it was normal...and it wasn't..

Still dropping, but hopefully finding its wings!!

I got a response from "Peregrine Place" . They have texted Debbie to see if she can go to UB to look for our wayward fledge!!

..and now I must get stuff done. I'm sure others are keeping watch!!

Currently: Dixie in the box, 1 on the perch, and 1 on the left ledge corner.

I'm back for a few and thought I'd check Peregrine Place FB page...Quite the story of the accidental fledge. I normally do not post on that page, but since I knew it was an accidental fledge, I needed to alert the masses...

Rescued female is Velocity (green tape). She was grounded. Somebody named Denise posted:

"What a morning! We have an awesome new member of our fledge watchers. His name is Dave. He is a student at UB majoring in environmental services and recently interned at DEC with Connie and Jackie. I met him early this am when I went to UB to check on a fledge from last night. Later saw the alert that a fledge was down and headed over. Found Dave and Paul who knew fledge was in courtyard that was locked. Maintenance man opened gate and luckily I had rescue kit (minus spray bottle). Dave attempted capture but she flew into adjacent neighborhood. We split up and I eventually found her behind a garage and chain link fence. I deflected and the guys got her. Dave was in touch with DEC throughout and they advised releasing on Clark roof if not injured. Quite a process, but with the help of the UB employee and an awful metal ladder to the roof we released her. She didn't move at ALL upon release.....just stared at us. Dave had seen her hit the side of Makay tower earlier. Decision was made to get her to SPCA wildlife rescue. That's where she is now....long ride holding a peregrine in a box..Denise"

..and in a prior post "She may have an injury to her foot."

...its so hard to follow sequence on facebook... :girlcrazy:

Breakfast arrives. Quite the tug-o-war with Dixie...Dixie won.

except, she only fed them a small amount. She had turned her back on the kids and started eating. One of the kids dashed over and grabbed the breakfast...Dixie was like "what just happened?"

So far, they seem to be content just hanging out on the ledge/box..

I'm not even sure if they've all technically fledged!!!

I was hoping for a triple fly off...didn't happen

For a brief moment, parent was doing fly bys...the kids just enjoyed the show..

What's interesting, is that we know at least 1 of those kids is flying well...he just keeps coming back. Sally, they must be waiting for Velocity.
